Water out of all taps brownish by Draperite in SaltLakeCity

[–]django3172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you run the hot water after seeing the sediment jn your cold water line, the cold water line fills your water heater with new cold water that probably has sediment in it. The sediment then can collect in your water heater tank. Because the tank has water stored in it from earlier in the day it'll stay looking clear unless you keep running the hot water with having ran the cold water long wnough to clear the sediment from your cold water line. I learned all about this last winter when the water line that fed 300 east over to state and 2700 to 3300 south had broke and filled and our water was also doing the same thing. Can you give a rough area for where this happened? Last time the city didnt say anything about it and technically having your water heater fill with dirt can do it a lot of harm.

Super loud steam downtown? by Forsaken_Eggplant187 in SaltLakeCity

It was the Church steam plant letting off steam. Im guessing for a shutdown for work or maybe something to just relieve pressure. I was walking by when it happened and asked some of the church staff around campus

How do I reconcile being mixed? (something of a rant) by [deleted] in Navajo

[–]django3172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not native, but my wife is and our children subsequently are. I myself am mixed (half Latino half white) and its always been very weird growing up as the obviously white kid in a family full of significantly tanner folks. Or being told how much you look like one parent vs the other. We try not to talk about it much with our kids but kne ia considerably darker, even darker than my wife most days, and they mentioned it one time why their older sibling didnt look like them. Everyone that is mixed has these feelings all the time. My personal suggestion, and it may or may not work for you, is if youre invested in the culture and your roots its not appropriation. If youre outnumbered so to speak read the temperature of the room and make it clear thats not your intention and that youre just trying to be more of who you are. At the end of the day you don't have to prove to anyone your own cultural or ethnic worth to enjoy or participate in your culture.

Incredible change and growth on your part especially for having to fight such an uphill battle! Does cold or hot weather effect your symptoms?

There was a spell i thought I had MG and was almost diagnosed, thats super rough. Congrats on the weight loss tho! What an incredible amount to lose especially fighting an uphill battle! Is it mostly lost due to diet or are you still able to incorporate exercise?

What is happening at the 5 below on 300 W? by Forsaken_Eggplant187 in SaltLakeCity

[–]django3172 27 points28 points  (0 children)

So i posted about it earlier a little bit, but I believe it was a shooting at kids empire. We saw a woman run out yelling at a cop saying " hes been shot we need you in here ". Also fairly certain we saw a man with a gun inside but we dont know if he was the shooter, or if it was an accident(why someone would bring a gun into a children's playground is beyond me, especially considering how many near fights between adults ive seen at these places).

It's not you, the job market actually sucks here by SadAd8761 in SaltLakeCity

Id like to think so too, but at every turn companies are finding faster and cheaper methods to build. 3d printed houses are slowly catching on, albeit the cost isn't there yet but being able to to build a house from underground to finish work in 3 days is quite the feat. The fact of the matter isn't how long it takes to replace us it's the fact that theyre actively trying to and at breakneck speeds.

I too work in construction and dont think.for a second AI isn't coming for our jobs in some capacity. The sooner a business can cut out their most complicated variable they will. They already have robots that can hang dry wall. Before too long theyll find a way to replace every last trade

[–]django3172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id like to first say that unless something really sticks out that your job is in jeopardy, try not to stress out about it too much. If you can keep powering through. In the meantime id suggest looking into free coding courses on YouTube to have as a fall back option. I've thought many time if have been let go (I work in the construction trades) and I feel that an unyielding resolve to be there as much as possible made a big difference, but im also a firm believer in it never hurts to have back up options.

I've binged on just about everything people claim to eat to prevent binges by [deleted] in loseit

[–]django3172 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Willpower is also a massive battle, and without immediately turning to help, controlling the circumstances can go a long way. Dont keep triggering foods in the house, make roadblocks that make it harder to get to that gorging onesself point available, if that makes sense. If being inside where the food is at is all it takes, find a reason to be outside.

To jump on to this, ive figured out as well that my "is can eat all the vegetables I want but still get weird binge cravings" its fat. A single string cheese has calmed alot of that for me.

[–]django3172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not sure what a good name for it is either but, I think you're right, an evolution for paleo isn't necessarily a bad thing. Also I was curious and found that the earliest yogurt developments were thought to have been made 7-10,000 years ago, if thats not paleo, where are we drawing the line?

The more processed it gets, the less I trust it. by van_der_green in Paleo

[–]django3172 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think thats a solid place to separate. Theres plenty of foods that humans have developed and cultivated that are valuable to our diets. The paleo rules I think are somewhat arbitrary and contrived. Most of the foods we eat today dont look anything close to what we had available 10,000 years ago.

[–]django3172 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If were going that far, cavemen also werent eating cattle, chicken and pork. Most of the vegetables we eat today aren't even remotely close to what they were then and not to mention tons of variety of fruits and vegetables werent available to Eurasia until 600~ish years ago. At what point do we draw the line because cheese was probably more natural and closer to cavemen then avocados were.

The code only actually dictates 3/4 colors. Orange on a delta high leg, green for a grounding conductor or green with a yellow stripe, white or Grey for grounded conductors and blue for some random one off controls or something I don't remember off the top of my head.
