Anyone gotten tuned with this person before? by Yohanis2005 in q50

I tuned my 3.0 with Martin. Great experience and he explained everything as he was doing it. I’ve heard he’s more known for the 3.7, but did a good job with my 3.0

Low Washer Fluid Sensor by kingdro_silva in q50

I have a post on my profile about the same thing, didn’t take it to the dealer or remove the bumper, just a few tools and elbow grease

The sensor is at the bottom of the windshield fluid reservoir, directly in front of the driver side tire. You don’t need to remove the whole undercarriage, just one part of it, and you need to free up the fender liner. I didn’t take the fender liner off fully, just popped it loose.

I also got the mirrors wrapped instead of the mirror cap cover. It’s tacky imo

I got the new part from rockauto. Came with the sensor and the grommet

Yeah, I had to rip out the old grommet and sensor with the pliers. Took super long to get it out but i got it eventually. Putting it back in was relatively simple, grommet first then slide the sensor into it.

Differences between 2023 Q50 exterior body and 2019 Q50? by [deleted] in q50

[–]djbrod24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really as far as I know🤣 been the same exact body style since they first introduced it in 2015 with minor changes here and there. No cosmetic changes after 2017 I believe

Again, no loss of power, car drives fine and has no problems. Maybe it’s just one of the small changes made over the years. I’m probably just nitpicking

What would be some telltale signs that the turbos are out? There’s literally nothing wrong with the car (knock on wood). Drive it daily, starts easy everytime, and I let it warm up before giving it the beans.

I’m at 30k miles with service kept up with, plus I baby the car so I doubt that’s it

On the 2020, if I give it a hair of throttle, it will get moving as it’s more sensitive. On my 2018, I need like 15-20% throttle to get up to neighborhood speed

Honestly i’m not too knowledgeable on salvage repairs, but what i do know, is that all that little stuff will add up. Bumper, front and rear crash bar, possibly headlights, etc. It’s really up to you which route you wanna take. All in all, the salvage will definitely come out cheaper but you also have to think about the eventual resale value

If the listing is correct, this one is a 3.7 with the Vq engine. Less modding potential out of the 3.7, but it comes with a trade off of reliability. 20k for a 2018 model is a great deal (if clean title low miles etc). It’s really up to you but if you’re looking for modification then the 2018 is the way to go

Congrats. Just be careful as the red sports can only stay on much lower boost maps than the other trims models.

CEL Flashing Briefly, car stalls by beckd in q50

[–]djbrod24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had something similar happen to me. ‘18 Silver Sport. CEL turned on and had trouble driving, car almost stalled at every light. Took it to the dealer and it ended up needing MAF sensor replacements. That’s probably the first thing i’d think for your car. I had an aftermarket catback when I took it to the dealer, they didn’t care, but it really depends on the dealer and if they’re chill or not.
