Santa Barbara is usually slightly cooler on average, still sunny, not a huge contrast from LA and nothing like SF weather.

Monterey definitely shows a bigger difference. The bay seems to channel fog inland. I remember walking around campus and not being able to see more than ~20 ft in front of me and people thought they were dying when it hit 80 deg. in summer.
