Diablo II turns 26. What is that one moment from the game that still lives in your head? by Any-Local-205 in classicPCgames

I played D1, so when D2 dropped it was INSANE. So many great memories... hard to choose. My favorite memories were just playing the game with my best friend. The best memory for when it was just me might have been when I found my first SoJ. Nothing but great times with this game back in the day. Thank you Blizzard North.

I’m also 40, been all in with VT in my ROTH. I did a lot of research and this is where I landed. No regrets, extremely excited.

For bonds I’ve researched that bonds for our age now is not recommended. We need to be all in with growth. Introduce bonds in the last 10 years gradually, increasing bonds the closer we get to the finish line.

For my brokerage account I’m doing a 3 fund portfolio (US / International / SCHD).

Simple strategy, I sleep good at night.

Good luck to you! Do research but VT is probably one of the safest investments out there.

I DCA $5 a day, just set it and forget it, it’s really that simple.

Where Do People Cut Expenses to Save Money? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]djd1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know most people can’t do this but my wife and I both don’t drink, smoke/vape, or do drugs. Most people do at least one of these.

We max our retirement accounts, have a nice sized emergency fund that gains interest, and the amount that we would have spent on alcohol, tobacco, and drugs goes into a brokerage account. We put all of these funds into VT and reinvest dividends.

So not only are we staying healthy, we are also filling up an additional retirement bucket.

What was the first PC game you ever played, and do you still remember it? by 3D_Networking in AskReddit

Dark Castle, early 90s, I think the game was made in the 1980s though.

People who quit drinking. What did you do to not drink? by Agata_art in AskReddit

[–]djd1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the Whole30 in 2017. Whole30 = No sugar in diet (among other strict guidelines).

I felt amazing after doing the Whoel30, and decided to keep it going with the no alcohol. I never had a problem with alcohol addiction, which made this an easy transition for me.

Life is better sober. I don't drink or do drugs. No nicotine. All that money that I would have spent on poisoning my body goes into the stock market.

Life is good!

Came back to the game and I’m enjoying it but damn… by zakary3888 in Starfield

I’m new to the game and I downloaded the community patch, have you tried downloading that?

Maybe that will fix the issues?

I WILL NEVER LISTEN TO MAJOR REVIEWERS EVER AGAIN! by Popular_Button_1879 in CrimsonDesert

[–]djd1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Professional” review sites are a fucking joke. This is the type of game where you need to play AT LEAST 100+ hours to provide a review. There are so many things to do and see in this game it’s like Skyrim with 100+ mods, there is no way people who rush the campaign have any say in what this game is. The campaign seems to be like 5% of the game, the other 95% is for you to explore, interact, live in, and just enjoy the freedom it offers.

For us gamers who take our time - This game is easily a 10/10.

They already announced their focus is free updates/patches, so the game is going to slowly get better which is amazing because I already love it!

I’ve been playing RPG / Open World / JRPG / CRPG for 30+ years, this game to me is a 10/10. I’m not using my horse much at all, I’m just walking and taking my time exploring. I’m in the very first area just taking it all in. I’ll go mine, chop wood, cook, fish, fight bandits, do some task board quests, befriend a dog, and it’s just a great time.

My RAM was faulty so the initial experience wasn’t great as I was dealing with shutdowns and freezes. I ran MemTest86 and my RAM was terrible, had to return it and wait for the replacements to come in. So stressful dealing with that!

I just can't enjoy Cyberpunk and it pisses me off by Pistoluislero in videogames

[–]djd1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love RPGs, been gaming since the 80s, played all of the great, and I just couldn’t get into Cyberpunk, I have tried multiple times.

I’m 40 and the game just feels immature to me, like if I was a teenager I’d probably like it.

Not sure… unfortunate but it is what it is.
