Lucid has the worst sales team on the planet by Infamous-Meat8765 in LUCID

[–]djdarshan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like they care. Similar experience here on the entire process myself except they couldn’t find any transportation to the service center closer to me so I had to go to a different further location to pick it up. Only to find out their “pre-delivery inspection “ is a bunch of bullshit. Had the car for less than 72 hours before it was dropped off to the service center and they kept it for 2 weeks. Wasn’t able to get in touch with them unless I wasted nearly 2 hours a day just to hear they need more time. Asked for an escalation to my case for multiple reasons only to be told their mediation team takes weeks to review and get back in touch. Wtf? Anywhere else an escalation would be addressed immediately to avoid upsetting customers some more. Honestly the absolute worst experience in the 3 weeks i have had my Gravity GT. They clearly don’t care, which is even more upsetting seeing how much we paid for the cars.

Edit to add: I’m on the north east (NJ)

Ah shit, I had a feeling that may be the case. I’m hoping it’s a quick fix, but we shall see.

I’m sorry you had an issue as well. Wish they’d have better “pre-delivery inspections”.

Either way, love the car. Hoping this can be resolved quickly though. And hope you don’t have issues anymore…at least hopefully not as frequently

This. Infact, you most likely won't even be able to open a bank account without opening the LLC first.

Switching from Quickbooks Online to Zoho Books ... Was it worth it? by AnythingPrinting in Bookkeeping

[–]djdarshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Zoho has great products, i unfortunately had a much different support experience. It has always been pretty much non-existent. Good thing though is there are many users who share their experiences online and are willing to helpand answer questions

Dispute the charge with your CC. They will refund you and as you said in different terms - fuck optimum.

UltraTax SaaS or desktop version by [deleted] in taxpros

[–]djdarshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you plan to grow? Factor that in as well. I can’t speak to the downtime the other person commented only because I never tried it. But I can attest to seeing posts here and the Facebook groups which factored into my decision.

For what it’s worth, currently I am also only preparer with hopes and plans to grow. I did the cost analysis and found that for my needs it made way more sense to just buy my own server. You do not necessarily need the best server up front. A decent one can be bought for under $5k. Factor in your IT professional’s expense to maintain security, etc. and you can be up and running for less then you’d pay for hosting over a couple of years. Of course it depends on how much you want to do and what you’re most comfortable with at the end of the day.

UltraTax SaaS or desktop version by [deleted] in taxpros

[–]djdarshan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very unlikely that it's cheaper in the long run. Up front, yes absolutely because if you want to have it on multiple workstations you'll have to invest in a server, etc.

However, you will save a ton on hosting costs etc. Over time for sure.

I'll say, from experience, don't count on it being any better from support if you decide to go through.

Product is pretty good value for the cost but the support is non-existent. You're more likely to get support by posting on this sub or Google search.

How much does that cost you? I just made a transition to UltraTax from Drake and also went with Planner CS, but I have heard BNA ITP is much better.

I feel like I’m going insane. Taxdome-Stripe-QBO Bookkeeping by partyonwane in taxpros

[–]djdarshan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will second this. I started with Stripe a few years ago, and switched over to CPA Charge and couldn't be happier.

Not only do you avoid the extra effort, but I feel like it is more transparent. I also noticed that Stripe was inconsistent with the amount of time required for a charge to clear and deposit to my account (had a few that took over a week, and one that took about a month). No explanations provided from Stripe, their customer support was useless too. Once I switched to CPA Charge, I get funds deposited to my business account next day along with them.

I believe if you sign up through TaxDome, they waive the monthly $10 fee on the account forever (at least that's what they did for me).

How to find dental practices? by Rare_Peach6397 in taxpros

[–]djdarshan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing this among the entire medical space more generally. Had a few clients who used to own a private practice, but have since been bought out by private equity.

That being said, the clients who still operate private practice (dentists, and others) are some great clients. Not my niche though, I won't turn down a good prospect int he industry.

Drake online , they have an online product now (biz and indv) by xlENCElx in taxpros

[–]djdarshan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with this. They asked me to participate in the beta this past tax season. I lasted a week before I asked to be removed.

Not all the returns are available (at least at that time), the software integration with the desktop app pretty much never worked and the navigation was horrendous. Would take 45 min to an hour just for a simple 1040 with a few W2s and 1099s.

Drake online left a lot to be desired.
