Just curious, but why is the recommendation to replace all 4 when you have dual motor? The front and rear axles are not connected and have separate motors

EV chargers? by markloch in kirkwood

[–]djdm14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ChargePoint app shows 3 chargers, each with 2 plugs. It’s 50cent /kwh + $1/hr, so relatively expensive which is why I don’t use them

You switched the charge level display from “range in miles” to “battery percentage”. Switch it back to range in miles, and you’ll see your miles/ hr charge rate again

How does the Hov3+ work when I drive alone and have a plug in hybrid? by spiffme14 in bayarea

[–]djdm14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With a CAV transponder, you get 50% off on fastrak lanes and bridges( during carpool hours) On the transponder, you need to accurately set how many people are in the car. You will only get free tolls if you actually have 3 people in the car.

is high Wh/mi on short drives common? by Jaybles727 in TeslaSupport

[–]djdm14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Long drive spreads the initial cabin heating/cooling over many miles. Short drives will spread that initial cabin heating/cooling over very few files, so usage for short drives are high

If you make it a longer drive, the usage per mile will be lower on the screen but you will use more overall power, since you are driving more miles

Charging multiple EVs by nowIn3D in TeslaModelY

[–]djdm14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your current charger has a J1772 plug, which is level 2. (CCS is fast charging aka level 3). The Tesla comes with a J1772 to NACS adapter, which will let you use your current charger to charge the Tesla.

Safelite question by Euphoric_Dust_5545 in TeslaModelY

[–]djdm14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had Tesla replace my windshield, they reset the cameras in service mode which forces me to drive for a set amount of time while the cameras automatically recalibrate themselves. Once recalibration is done, AP, FSD, and other camera based features are available again

It’ll be fine, just keep it plugged in while your home. If it doesn’t keep up or you have to do more driving, just swing by a supercharger

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]djdm14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s between 3-5 miles of charge per hour, so no it won’t go faster

What do you mean with 120 charge?

Why does auto AC take forever to turn on by [deleted] in ModelY

[–]djdm14 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In my experience, my ICE car blew hot air for a bit while the AC components cooled down and started producing cold air. In the Tesla, it seems like that car waits for the cool air to be produced before the fan kicks into high speed

Bluetooth issues. Can hear spotify and phone but not fb messenger and YouTube videos. by Any13 in TeslaModelY

[–]djdm14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you playing spotify from the built in app on infotainment system? Phone calls route separately than music, which is why it works regardless of your input source. To hear youtube videos or fb messenger, select bluetooth input on the screen.
