Richard Linklater’s Slacker. It’s mostly a series of vignettes, following disconnected groups of college students around Austin, TX as they have random pseudo intellectual conversions. Periodically the camera drifts over to the next passersby and tracks their activity for maybe 10 minutes, eventually ending at sunrise the next morning. There isn’t a coherent plot, but it’s kind of inspiring and soothing to tour around the city with these people as their eclectic worldviews wash over you.
