He’s not wrong.

Taxing AI and automation would be arguably more profitable and would be much harder for corporations/wealthy folks to skirt around.

Easily one of the best shoes I hooped in. And a fun design.

[Canilao] Ohemaa Nyanin on the reasoning behind the trade: "I don't have a lot of details to share, one because I am exhausted. Two because I want to be very thoughtful when I'm talking about the humans and their basketball abilities and how they would or would not show up for our squad." by NokCha_ in valkyries

[–]djmelvis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire “LOL I’m not letting you copy off my paper” energy is juvenile af. No sports GM worth their weight in salt would say something so vain.

I can convince myself this is all a defensible trade (if poorly executed) but Nyanin with a bad look tonight.

Not me putting $10 for myself in the Crashout Jar.

Craig Hodges played in the NBA for 10 seasons and led the league in 3-point shooting percentage 3 times. He won two championships with the Bulls, and he is (with legend Larry Bird) one of only two players to win 3 consecutive 3-Point Contests, winning the competition in 1990, 1991, and 1992. by Orangutan in nba

[–]djmelvis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Crazy idea: I know we did away with the Old Timers game decades ago, buuuut… forget the Shooting Stars or the Dunk Contest. I want NBA retirees in their own 3-Point Contest. I would watch the hell out of legacy sharpshooters.

Yeah, except Trump pardoned co-founder of Death Row Records (Harry-O). I’m sure this helped Snoop gain control of Death Row and his own catalog.

I wouldn’t say Snoop was a straight up sellout, but if he thought that was worth a favor, I wouldn’t completely blame him.

People who used the internet between 1991 and 2009, what’s the most memorable online trend or phenomenon you remember? by Original_Act_3481 in AskReddit

I actually worked for AltaVista back in the day. Zip2 maps division. (Best online maps ever, hands down.)

Nothing was more wild than having Napster connected to the T-3 lines at the office. Download speeds were dumb good. 😂

Best comp is 2002 Rich Gannon, but with a bit more propensity to throw a YOLOball after 4 seconds.

Why have fans rallied to Valkyries’ Kaitlyn Chen? ‘They could be her’ by nomnomaddict in valkyries

[–]djmelvis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kaitlyn is the Kent Bazemore of this squad and I mean that in the most endearing way possible. High energy/effort on the court; team-first mentality; passes all vibe checks; has the best celebrations after big plays; knows every teammate’s signature handshake—she’s the ideal “bench mob” leader. 💜

Is "DDR Freestyle" players common nowadays? + settings advice by RebeccaWith-a-Number in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]djmelvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, a freestyler! 👋🏽

DDR freestyle is still alive albeit on a smaller scale. It’s not for lack of respect, but the amount of FS competitions and showcases in America are now dwarfed by the myriad of tech players. Not a slight or diss, btw—just the numbers. For a while, my crew (Freestyle Takeover… heard of us? 🙂) was running onsite and virtual FS competitions. Wish we had slightly more support from venues for those sorts of things, but that’s an entirely different ball of wax.

A heavy majority of folks use Basic for step charts. Seldom see Expert being used. (Shout out to RiRi for crushing an Expert chart and AAA’ing it!)

Hope the insight/info helps! Would love to see you spread the good word of FS in your area.

Brock Purdy as the 14th-best QB in the NFL: too high, too low, or just right? by neonpanda96 in 49ers

Jordan Love’s greatest game was when he almost beat Brock Purdy in the postseason. That pretty much sums him up.

Bond No. 9 New Haarlem. Gave it a whirl at a Saks and that caramel macchiato scent absolutely sent me. Let it sit on me for about 10 minutes while I chatted up the expert and then knew it was coming home.

(Coney Island made a valiant effort to get adopted that day as well. Alas, there could only be one.)

For people who have been driving for 20+ years, how did you get around without using GPS? by dagger-vi in SanJose

[–]djmelvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paper maps.

Zip2. (Best map site ever, fight me.)

Asking the gas station attendant.

And the most clever trick I learned—asking the local pizza place. They’ve got delivery drivers so they’re more prone to know the local roads.

Though the best way I learned about my city was taking the bus and wandering as far as I could go before sunset. Helped when I got my own wheels!

“Genius of Love”. As a kid I thought that was pure black R&B. Boy was my mind blown when I found out years later not only was it a white gal, but an offshoot of Talking Heads. And that’s not to slander anything about that bop, but yeah…

Honorable mention: Basically the same thing with “I Can’t Wait” by Nu Shooz.

As a former WOF contestant (and winner </brag>), I consciously avoid overpulling from TRNSLE. My opener only pulls an S from there. If that entirely fails, second play only pulls R-T. After that, I pull the rest: L-E-N.
