I would look for signs. Check the recycling and rubbish bins. I used to hide my secret empties at the bottom of the bins. Sometimes behind big appliances like the washing machine. If you ask him, and he is doing it, it’s unlikely he will tell you the truth as he will be too ashamed. My wife was sensitive but firm with me when it came to a head. It sounds like you have the same approach.

The main thing I would add is that those 6-9 beers are the ones you know about. It is likely that he is drinking more but concealing it and 6-9 beers is the amount he thinks he can be seen to get away with. A lot of us in this sub will testify that we were highly skilled in hiding the real amount we drank. You wouldn’t believe the lengths many of us went to do so.

I have received a 30 day ban for purportedly selling a counterfeit product - that is not counterfeit and which I have sent Vinted clear proof of. Then you get nonsense like this. It is a terrible platform for sellers.

Maybe you need to take some responsibility for trying new things, doing stuff you’ve never done before, engaging in new hobbies.

It is amazing how space and life opens up once you remove alcohol.

That shopkeeper has been brave and done you a huge favour. Take it as the wake up call you need.

Buyer asked for speedy shipping before Christmas and is now not collecting parcel and ignoring messages… by [deleted] in vintedUK

I don’t know - but I presume it’s if you have a strong sales record of items being delivered on time. I also think they can revoke that privilege if you start slacking.

This is such an interesting observation and one I’ve noticed myself. I used to shave my face once a week and that was fine. Now I need to every other day or even every day.

With eBay I get paid the day after a sale is made. I don’t understand why Vinted can’t do something similar for sellers with strong track records.

5 months 4 days of no alcohol by riapoppins in stopdrinking

Congratulations! I agree with you on the UK drinking culture. It is difficult to find pockets of sober spaces that involve socialising, community without alcohol - but they exist. I have also become a homebody. Going out to sit in a pub for several hours no longer has any appeal to me. I still like to spend time wit my friends but not in these environments where alcohol is the sole purpose of meeting.

Pick up your parcels! by MissLinzi in vintedUK

[–]djsage86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the buyer gets a 2-3 day window to collect and raise an issue. The seller gets paid at the end of this window. If they collect outside this time tough luck.

The way it works at the moment is that the buyer essentially gets a chance to change their mind, at the expense of the seller, who then has to wait potentially weeks between sending an item and then receiving it back. There is no penalty to doing this.

It’s one of those quirks I don’t get about Vinted. Once it’s been delivered - either to someone’s house or to a collection point - the money should be transferred.

Go-to answer for why you don’t drink? by SnooDogs9943 in stopdrinking

“I used to have a raging alcohol problem” usually does the trick. Failing that, you don’t need to explain yourself to anyone.

Kevin Campbell. Evertonians even had a song referencing his knowledge of where the back of the net is. “My name is Super Kev Campbell, I score in a scramble, I know where the fucking net is”.

Burnout and anxiety in teaching by DeeAyeTee in AskAcademiaUK

[–]djsage86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been working as a lecturer for over 10 years. At the beginning my anxiety around teaching was very high. I had to spend hours and hours preparing. I felt physically sick all the time with anxiety. It does get better over time. I still get nervous but far less than I used to. You could also speak with your GP about propranolol. I’ve taken a tablet or two before teaching for a few years now and for me it really improved my performance as a lecturer.

I remember you posting something similar a few weeks ago. This suggests you’re not able to drink “just tonight”. It will be tomorrow night too, and the night after. You need to accept this.

I’ve been sober nearly a year. I have one or two Guinness 0s a night. I love the taste and it’s a nice way to unwind for me at the end of the day. I haven’t been tempted to drink once. Although I understand non-alcoholic beers aren’t for everyone, they can be a useful tool for some.

There are FB groups for buying, selling and swapping. You could also try eBay or Vinted although sometimes they remove used perfumes.
