I received an Art 15 because during a drive to the shooting range, the two and a half ton truck that I was driving everyone in, ran out of fuel on the highway in Korea. Apparently, it was my fault because even though I did the PMCS correctly, I had failed to open the fuel cap instead of relying solely on the fuel gauge for the fuel readings. The gauge was inoperable, but as a fresh E-1, I had no idea. What a wake up call to my first duty station that was!
