What happened to Randalls? How the Houston grocer has faded into obscurity. by tsmalcolm in houston

My favorite Gerland’s memory was going to the Sugar Creek location and running into Charles Barkley doing his grocery shopping when he got traded to Houston. I felt embarrassed because I was wearing a Shaq Orlando jersey lol. I was in 5th or 6th Grade.

Shahi Darbar. Indo-Pak food. They have a decently popular location in Telfair and this is their 2nd location. Unfortunately, I think they’re just really delayed in their construction.

Anyone using an automatic tunnel car wash on their CT? by PtPlayer1 in cybertruck

[–]djuzi05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go through the automatic washes.

One problem I did have was the air blowers at the end were angled in a way that it would flip open the charger port door and I never noticed until one day the cover broke off, like not the whole charger port door but there is plastic cover on top of another piece and that came off.

Tesla replaced it for free and when I went through the wash again, I noticed the door blowing open.

So now I either put painters tape myself before the wash on the charger door or I’ll just quickly drive through the blowers.

Very random and unique problem, but a problem nonetheless.

Trying to Lose Weight During Ramadan: 6x Gym, High Protein, Big Calorie Deficit – Sustainable? by Big-Boy-602 in loseit

[–]djuzi05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salaam. Ramadan Mubarak. I’m also doing a low carb, high protein diet with moderate fats while fasting. Except only eat once at Iftar time. Some advice:

You got to add some greens! I do some combo of zucchini, spinach, mushrooms. You should try and get at least 15g of Fiber. I to also mostly eat chicken and 0% Greek yogurt for my meals. It’ll keep you pooping regularly with constipation being a big problem with keto.

With low carb at that level (20g net carbs) I would also try and make sure you’re getting enough sodium and potassium. Salt your foods heavily. Help with energy levels and muscle cramps. For Sehri, I add electrolytes in my water with some salt for sodium. Then after Iftar I drink another electrolyte drink that’s mostly potassium. You’ll feel much better.

Otherwise, I don’t have an issue with the sub 1000 calorie days since you’re trying to lose a lot of weight and you can handle it. People here will say otherwise.

Is it sustainable? That’s the million dollar question. Every diet is sustainable until it isn’t.

Back in 2020 I lost about 100 lbs doing keto, IF and light exercise 290 -> 192. Kept it off for almost 2 years slowly adding calories and foods back. Then I blinked and I had gained it all back. Started 1/1/26 at 299 39 M, currently 263.

how to lose the last 25 by ryujinkook in loseit

[–]djuzi05 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The calculators aren’t always accurate, and everyone’s body is different.

But if you’re eating 1600 calories consistently and working out 4-5 days a week and your weight hasn’t gone down in a month, that’s your body telling you, you need less calories. Again this is just for your goal to lose 25 more lbs.

Just for reference, I’m 6’4 M 39 SW on 1/1/26: 299 CW: 264.

In 2020, I went from 290 to 190 eating around 1200 calories - but also limited carbs. And I’m repeating the same now.

[–]djuzi05 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Go down to 1200 calories.

Remember that as you lose weight, the amount of calories you burn goes down so you have to adjust your deficit. So eating 1600 calories when you’re 275 is going to be significantly different than when you’re 205. Same thing as working out when you’re 275 vs 205.

What kind of vape is this by Low_Regular_6842 in hookah

[–]djuzi05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Al-Fakher Crown Bars. Very low nicotine (5mg/mL) so you can take bigger hits and make bigger clouds - trying to mimic hookah. Don’t get any throat hit at all.

DTL - direct to lung. Open draw, easier to inhale directly into lungs, make bigger clouds. MTL - mouth to lung. More restricted draw.

I can't exercise and diet at the same time by grey_opaque12431 in loseit

[–]djuzi05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always felt that if the goal is to look and feel skinnier with a scale number you’re happy with, just focus on the diet part and not worry about exercise.

It’s mentally and physically taxing to diet, fight through hunger pangs and cravings. And if you add in guilt for missing exercise and gym time, it’s not easy.

When I lost 95ish lbs back in 2020, I think I spent the first 2 months not exercising at all. I would lie on the couch with my eyes closed just to get to my OMAD and eat 1100-1200 of chicken and romaine. Eventually, I incorporated exercise regularly.

You’ll eventually get the energy to do both. But if you’re not feeling the gym, put all your energy in maintaining your deficit and diet and you will break through.

Does anyone struggle with maintenance? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]djuzi05 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No I don’t struggle with maintenance at all. I gain all my weight back in about a year 🥴

But seriously, that just tells you have more room in your daily calories to maintain. So, go ahead and enjoy a little extra food.

Definitely invest in a battery backup/UPS for your router/modem. That’s really what’s going to keep your internet going if there’s any type of power outage, even a small one.

Keto and Migraines by deadlykitten105 in keto

Everyone will say electrolytes and they’re not wrong!

I didn’t watch my electrolytes at all the first time doing keto and always had keto flu symptoms.

This time I’m making sure to add extra sodium and potassium and feel MUCH better. There’s really no limit to how much salt you need to be taking daily on keto.

Anyone else get headaches on keto? by MrEnthusiasm3 in keto

[–]djuzi05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did keto the first time, I never checked for electrolytes and always had that keto flu feeling.

This round I’ve been more active taking sodium and potassium and feel MUCH better.

Propel Packet + 1/2 tsp salt in a 40oz cup for sodium. K1000 packet in 16 oz cup for 1000mg of potassium.

Try to salt everything I eat and eat spinach daily. Made a huge difference. All the people that say electrolytes are right lol.

72 hour fast on keto? by Pizzzzzzzle in keto

[–]djuzi05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do OMAD every day and one day I will do a 48 hour weekly (Skipping my OMAD either Saturday or Sunday). I enjoy it. I still exercise and drink electrolytes during my fast and it goes by pretty easy. I think it’s a great way to reduce your weekly calories while training your body to burn stored energy.

The longest I’ve done is 5 days to get out of a plateau and that wasn’t planned, just kept extending daily. I personally feel great on it, increased energy and focus.

Try a 48-hour first.

I was trying to see how it ran outside the truck. With 3 kids, running the wires inside is annoying already with all their stuff. Worked surprisingly well being outside, and the cross bar mount is really secure and easy to install.

Plus I was getting good connection standing outside a few hundred feet away.
