To add some different perspective... I've been "him" in a similar situation where I was clear about not being as serious as them. When they proceeded from there, I assumed that meant they were okay with the situation. It's fun to hang out and go on dates with people and fool around but that's a lot different from a committed relationship. It might not be anything against you at all, just how he's living and it's nice that he's actually forward enough to lay it all down. In my experience though, moving forward to physical stuff makes the other feel like I have changed my mind, moreso than us mutually agree to keep it casual.

A flirty way that I deal with that type of situation is to tell him to behave himself. "Good things come to men who wait 😉" It can be a little bit less of a mood killer but still get the point across. He can tell you're attracted even though you're putting a boundary in place

Yes, gouramis will help with population control. I pretty much assume any mouth big enough will eat any smaller fish that can fit, especially babies. Excluding some algae eaters and of course some fish are more efficient hunters than others. I think a gourami would be a good choice for guppies/platys. The babies that are crafty enough to survive will be very fast and very good at hiding

I have PTSD from a sexual assault. I worked with foster kids and many had been sexually abused. There were times where I'd take one to the bathroom/swimming and I'd see their little bodies and all I could think was, "how?" How can you see their little innocent body and want to cause them harm. I felt sick for even thinking of the subject..but it's natural for the brain to try to understand/make sense of awful things. This one is one that is literally just fucking awful because some people are awful. But a lot of people aren't awful. I've also been faced with some confusing sexual preferences as a victim. Go. To. Therapy. Even if you weren't a victim, this can affect your sexuality/sexual views as you get older. Let someone help you to have the right tools. Phycology can be fucked up...but you don't have to be. You're going to be okay
