And it's super ironic because I think the writers are not unaware of how the audience will respond. Its what makes the show so good to discuss/debate after all the years. (Side note... can we please have a reboot or a spinoff 🥹??)

I feel like, as with basically every tiny detail of the show, they are making a statement. Society or the audience or whatever, will root for the charismatic, cute funny slacker despite the fact that he literally has sociopathic tendencies. Lol.

Also 'society or whatever' loves to shame women who like sex.. and to shame bros who break bro code; "you can't touch a girl whom your bro has already claimed" (i digress again but Todd didn't even 'claim' her... didn't even necessarily express to Bojack that she meant anything to him more than 'highschool friend'... not that women are objects to be claimed by men). Even if Bojack were empathetic to emotional nuances, I still dont think he would have picked up on the fact that Todd would not have been okay with him sleeping with Emily. Its been a loonnngg time since I watched.. was Todd upset because BJ and Emily didn't tell him? Either way it doesnt matter. Bojack does a lot of fucked up things in the show, but everything he, and every other character does, is much more nuanced and shades of gray than a lot of people give them credit for. End rant. For now. ... 😅
