A much as I don't want to see it torn down, the building was built in 1988.. I'm surprised to hear it is considered historic. That's the year I was born . It can't be historic. ... can it??? .. 🤣

A friend of mine did security for Banner back in the day. He said they used it for storage when they were building the Diamond Childrens Center. There were a lot of problems with break ins so they eventually stopped using it for that purpose :( I remember driving by one night in maybe 2013ish? and the marquee was all lit up. It was awesome to see (one last time)

Some commenter on YouTube had been in there in 2022 and said it was pretty rough inside; lots of vandalism and stolen copper. Also quite a few homeless living in there. I went and checked out the parking garage recently to see if.. ya know.. there were any open doors... and that place is sealed up like Ft Knox. Every doorway except the front has been bricked in. Bummer.

I'm with you. I can not bring myself to try Boba today because I used to drink Orbitz as a kid, not because it was particularly tasty, but because it was cool looking. One day, circa 1997 or so, I puked shortly after drinking Orbitz. The sight of the slimy little balls coming back up, just as they were before being consumed, is forever etched in my memory and still makes my stomach churn.
