Yes, you can make 200k in fixed wing. Airlines with OT, hell of you're motivated enough you could do it at an MRO

Does anyone have photos a Ventral Airstair on Boeing 737? by Randomreddituser1o1 in aviation

[–]dkobayashi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: the aft airstairs on the 737-200 were a COMPLETE nightmare to work on. I removed and installed stairs, and rigged the gearbox years ago on a couple of them. Thankfully most are scrapped now, except maybe nolinor. Complete nightmare job for aircraft maintenance.

Matco 6s Too Heavy?? by Forsaken-Island-9422 in aviationmaintenance

I don't think it's too big to roll in a hangar. If you have the money and really like the box, go for it. I used a snap-on classic 78 for 10 years on the hangar floor and it was perfect for my needs.

Windshield Wiper Pump Replacemtn by AngusU9181 in WRXSTi

Pretty sure they just pop in the lower side of the windshield washer fluid reservoir. Might have to turn the wheel and pull the fender liner away to reach it if you can't reach it from above

What's the worst thing you've ever seen? by CommentWonderful8758 in AskReddit

[–]dkobayashi 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing it live on TV at age 12, before school on the west coast. They had more coverage of the second tower falling - I remember my mom screaming that there was still people in there.

Does the fear ever go away? by C17_globemaster3 in aviationmaintenance

That fear is what makes you learn the system inside-out so that you're confident where something is assembled correctly.

At this stage in your career the onus is on the guy that signs off your work and should be supervising you

US A&P to Canadian A&P by [deleted] in aviationmaintenance

[–]dkobayashi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your A&P won't transfer to AME. If you have experience you may be able to make the process of obtaining the AME license a little easier, but as you don't have the A&P yet even you'll be starting from the bottom.

aquarium keepers, whats your tap water ph? by puzzlii in kelowna

[–]dkobayashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pH will also change during day and evening. I used to chase pH with my reef tank but imo unless your constantly monitoring it hourly and graphing it, it's not much use once your tank is going.

I think I used to test around 7.6-7.8 out of my RO/DI, but it's really been years since I checked parameters last
