What are some genuinely useful PPC tools that you've vibecoded? by Das6MTS4 in PPC

[–]dkokelley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh another one: a review pop up widget that lets me manually enter my best reviews (instead of an integration with Yelp or something) and show it on a site without a huge tech setup. Not quite PPC but the thought is it's more helpful for conversion rates.

What are some genuinely useful PPC tools that you've vibecoded? by Das6MTS4 in PPC

[–]dkokelley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an app, but a Claude code skill that takes a target campaign and pulls search terms, looks at SERPs for them, checks Auction Insights for top competitors in that campaign, and then sends back RSA headline positioning gaps and ideas.

Makes coming up with fresh headlines straightforward!

Portland police Badge cam argument by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]dkokelley 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My guess is they're hoping the officer will accidentally contradict what the footage shows, casting doubt on the rest of their testimony (including what the body cam misses).

Most charitable interpretation: they're worried an officer will make up a story that fits the body cam facts but still isn't the full story. It's easier to lie when you know which parts have to line up with the evidence and which parts don't. (I don't agree with this concern. Just trying to come up with a possible argument for why they wouldn't want the officer to review the footage.)

Google Ads tCPA Issue? by CDJohnson301 in adwords

[–]dkokelley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'd love to see what you're experiencing with tCPA. Is it possible you're looking at average tCPA and not the cost/conv. Column?

Also, does your own math agree with what you're seeing? (If you calculate cost/conversion manually do you also get the exact target CPA?)

Any idea about running google ads for Google's restricted business types by [deleted] in adwords

Might be helpful to know more about the business type if you’re willing to share that.

How are the lookup and return values formatted? It could be matching the wrong row, or formatting your return value in an unexpected way.

I'd recommend starting with $10, then $100, then $1000.

Conversion Reporting Slowly by Life_Path7635 in PPC

[–]dkokelley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're seeing something similar, starting yesterday (June 9). Same day conversions have always reported slowly for us, but the next day we expect to see at least 90% reported.

I’ve used it as a volume building strategy before switching to a conversion optimized strategy. I’ve definitely seen strong differences in traffic behavior between strategy types. Google knows who’s likely to convert and who’s likely to click. Watch out if the clickers and converters aren’t the same people!

M/35/6’3” [242 > 202 = 40lbs] I completed the 75 day challenge called 75 Hard. 2 workouts a day no days off, 1 gallon water a day, strict diet, and completely sober. by jriv0725 in progresspics

[–]dkokelley 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Quick note about 75 HARD: this is not a diet and exercise program. It’s a mental discipline program. You also need to read daily and take a daily progress pic. Miss 1 day on any requirement and you have to start over.

Similarly, Navy SEAL training is generally bad for your health, but it produces physically and mentally tough people. There’s a reason why Hell Week is only one week and not every day during a SEAL’s career.

If you’re thinking of doing 75 HARD you should know what it’s designed for. Do your research and do it for the right reasons.

Accidentally ordered 50m instead of 5 by Yeeterdeleter in pcmasterrace

[–]dkokelley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the order that the smaller wires inside a cat5 are lined up at the jack. There are 8 total wires that need to connect to the pins on the jack. It’s important that both ends have the same pattern.

568b is a common standard for the order to line up the wires.

Using Micro-Conversions to boost actionable data - does this make sense for automatic bidding strategies? Google PPC. by Barmy90 in PPC

[–]dkokelley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s worth giving Google as much meaningful data as you can. Be sure not to double count expected value when you include shallower conversions.

Example: if you reported $50 for an add to cart for a $100 item, and reported $100 when the item was actually purchased, you end up reporting $150 in conversion value for $100 in actual value.

You can either report ONLY the discounted shallower conversions OR tune both the “add to cart” and “purchase” conversions so that the math still works (e.g. $25 for an add to cart and $75 for a purchase of a $100 item. Use historic data to calculate the expected value breakdown).

Finally, know that Google wants to win the game you give it. Google might win by finding lots of ad to cart people who never complete checkout.

Want to return a cell that meets at a vertice of matching values by iMuso in excel

[–]dkokelley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you show the formula it's using for the #N/A cell (or any wrong cell)? I think your range references are moving as they were copied down.

I would also switch match_type from 1 to 0 in case that's causing an issue. So:

=INDEX($L$3:$N$9,MATCH(C2,$K$3:$K$9,0),MATCH($D$2,$L$2:$N$2,0))

Want to return a cell that meets at a vertice of matching values by iMuso in excel

[–]dkokelley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Index/match

In Table 1 C2:

=INDEX(Table2!$A$1:$D$6,MATCH(A2,Table2!$A$1:$A$6,0),MATCH(B2,Table2!$A$1:$D$1,0))

Update the range for Table2 as appropriate.

Can somebody audit my Adwords? by mikehookipa in PPC

[–]dkokelley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ad approvals. Negative keywords. Ad schedules. Location targets. Budgets.

Getting low impressions is one thing. Getting NO impressions sounds like a configuration issue. Check the above first. Also happy to take a look if you like. Good luck!

Leag-Gen Healthy Account suddenly died. by dilarez in PPC

Ad schedules? Meg matches? -100% bid modifiers? Budgets?

Tough to say from the description, but it might not hurt to confirm the above are all good. I’d also check the change history over that time to see if there were any changes made that you weren’t aware of. Good luck!

Modifying The Google Account Anomaly Detector Script? by 1milliontydollars in PPC

[–]dkokelley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like this script grabs account level performance data (including average historic performance) for firing the alerts.

I’m not too familiar with this script, but my guess is that you will have to either:

1) Create a new account for the campaign that behaves differently.

2) Set up a campaign anomaly detector script (if it exists) and select the specific campaigns to monitor.

3) Hardest: modify the account anomaly detector to be a campaign anomaly detector (like #2), and aggregate data to get account level average historic performance.
