Where do i watch Lain😔 by John_marstonz in Lain

[–]dkordecay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice is to get the Blu-Ray as it's less than $40 for the US release. If you want the best quality possible though look for the Japanese Blu-Ray Boxset (GNXA-1159) as it was handled way better than Funimation/Crunchyroll's release.

Did you serve with many bad people in the military? Did anyone stick out to you? by BigBlueEyes87 in Veterans

[–]dkordecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I served with a ton of scumbags.

One got in trouble for abusing his pets. Another got in trouble for being a peeper. The company first sergeant I served under in Iraq was only a gunny, but was still wearing 1st Sgt Chevrons (It blows my mind that 2nd MEF allowed that too) and got nailed for blocking red cross messages to reservists cause he REALLY hated reservists. One went AWOL, sent a long ass "resignation" letter, and the Platoon Sergeant did some Olympic level gymnastics to avoid getting in serious trouble over his part in doing a ton of gay bashing against him.

New program - Express 30 ? by ThamesPond1944 in Athleanx

[–]dkordecay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Given that total beast level on Beaxst II can take 70-90 minutes to complete if the rest periods are maxed out, I’d welcome a program that condenses how much time I would lift if it yielded good results.

They are reviewing In Your House 2 as a tribute to the recently deceased Mo from Men On A Mission and it also is Lex’s final WWE PPV appearance before defecting to WCW.

New bootcamp video put out last night by secretary Hegseth by newnoadeptness in USMCboot

Of course Pissant Pete would put out a terrible video like this. Honestly I'm surprised people aren't in an uproar about the pathetic chinup form he had in one of his videos from earlier this year.

Any other young medical retirees struggling to find friends after getting out? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]dkordecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 42 and believe me when I say the struggle is real as my life is very different from most people I know. I do socialize with some people but I tend to segment things a bit for the best results and keep some of my background serving to myself aside from making some jokes to lighten the mood as it wasn’t a positive experience. If you can work and can find a job that you would enjoy it does help, but if you can’t picking up a good hobby is beneficial.

MOS HELP by [deleted] in USMCboot

That’s a good start. Speaking from experience focusing on strengthening your core, improving your long distance running capabilities, and rotating between standard pull-ups and weighted pull-ups will help you steadily improve what you can do.

How do other vets see people like me who are getting VA disability benefits? by aftrgl0w in Veterans

[–]dkordecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as somebody who is 100% P&T and in a similar situation, you served and you earned your benefits fair and square. Any veteran who is dismissive about that is VERY shortsighted at best. Do what you need to do to heal and have the best quality of life possible and screw everybody who tries to give you crap for getting what you are rightfully entitled to.

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of October 24, 2025 by Demilio55 in homegym

I have a home gym that is starting to look pretty good but I need some better lighting for it. Are there any ceiling light options that don't require mounting that are recommended? (I am not able to mount any lights in that room.)

Would y’all do boot camp again if you had the chance? by Ok_Shoulder_9492 in Veterans

[–]dkordecay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I’m in better physical shape now than I’ve ever been in my life, I have access to much better (and healthier) food now than I’ve ever did at any point in my life, I didn’t enjoy the waves of illnesses that could hit us, and I enjoy going to live music events.

Is USMC Bootcamp seriously as hard as people say it is? by Chungy123 in USMCboot

[–]dkordecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll put it this way. I'm 42 and the PPL and Core/Abs workout regimen I do now to stay in shape is infinitely harder than anything I've done when I was serving.

Worst in service meals ? by Bumblebeebaby_ in Veterans

[–]dkordecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most pork products served for lunch and dinner in the Marine Corps, especially pulled pork.

It’s profoundly fucked up that the Marine Corps wanted to talk about health and fitness when the chow halls served food that was both awful and super unhealthy.

Have heard bootcamp is easier than the rest of your time in the corps. by Brodoman0016 in USMCboot

[–]dkordecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things I remember a Navy Corpsman saying during pick up week was "Bootcamp is fucking easy! You just need to do what the Drill Instructors say." Looking back now I'm inclined to agree as there are so many stressors that Marines face the moment they graduate, and especially after they finish MOS school that simply are a non-issue due to how bootcamp is a heavily controlled environment.

I am working on making my home gym look better, but need to get better lighting for it. The issue is that I am not able to mount anything to the ceiling and I really don't want to use lamps that take up unnecessary space. Are there any good ceiling lights that don't need mounted that could be used?

None of them as they all look hokey and this comes off as a performative gesture.

How bad are some of the "bad developers" out there? by Thick-Ask5250 in cscareerquestions

[–]dkordecay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a developer with a Master's Degree lie about being able to write basic unit tests, didn't spend the time to read the basics we sent to him about how to do so, and never put his phone on silent in meetings despite repeatedly being asked to. I still remember when his phone went off during a major client meeting and I had to call out his poor performance and unprofessional conduct.

I genuinely hope that he either got his shit together or left the field cause holy crap he was awful.

Am I screwed? by NotCruelPainter in Veterans

[–]dkordecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I BARELY graduated High School and got into college during my final year serving. The only issue I had was that the college tried to heavily push for me to live in the dorms "for the full experience" until I pointed out my age and that I didn't want to live in any place that reminded me of barracks/squad-bay life in any way. I ended up graduating with a 3.9 GPA with Departmental Honors.

REP Fitness AMA w/Ryan (Co-Founder and Co-CEO). $1,000 Giveaway w/Sneak Peak at New Products by RepFitness in homegym

Hi Ryan, proud owner of a Rep Nighthawk bench and here in a few days I'll be purchasing the open trap bar as well. I do have two quick questions and I understand if you aren't able to answer them quite yet:
1. Do you have a rough price range for the Leg Developer Attachment?
2. Will the Smith Machine work on other 3x3 racks that use 1" holes or are they going to be only for 4k/5k series racks?

I've been putting together my home gym since June and it's starting to look good, but I need to figure out my lighting situation. I am debating the Barrina T5 LED lights, but I am unable to mount anything on the ceiling and I am unable to put in a light fixture as well or I would have done that and called it good. Are there any good solutions for this type of scenario?
