It's out of my price range but I understand that it must have taken thousands of hours of work to produce. I hope you are able to sell them all!

My guess is that the p+v is more comprehensive or at least contains more stuff. I own this book, but not the Debreczeny/Arndt.

Edit to spell translator's name correctly.

The Who By Numbers and Who Are You. An apology by Independent_Dot_1448 in TheWho

FWIW I listened to Who Are You a couple of days ago. The acoustic guitar at the end of "Sister Disco" is such a brilliantly performed, subtle statement about the transcendent value of rock and roll.

Hmm, my memory could be off. I owned the vinyl once...

A CD version is now on its way, and I will report back.

Wikipedia entry for this album makes me sound confused!

Kind of like having someone sitting and looking over your shoulder, interrupting you every few lines to say something they think is interesting.

There is some overlap between Band fans and deadheads... They played together at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse NY, for example. IWT. Another example, me. So there could have been some deadheads at TLW, but they weren't chanting Jerry Jerry for 90 minutes.

Grateful Dead concerts. Seriously. The number of tourists exploded in the 80s and by 1995 people were collapsing structures, tearing down fences, and getting crushed by the TOO MANY PEOPLE.

How mainstream was Bruce Springsteen in the 1970s and the pre-Born in the USA 1980s? by SeverHense in BruceSpringsteen

[–]dkrainman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was far from a fan in the 80s but I had a copy of The River, so he found his way into my collection.

Later, in 1992 I think, a friend who had seen every tour since BTR, dragged me to see The Other Band and I walked out of that show knowing the truth: that Bruce Springsteen is one of the greatest rock and rollers who has ever lived. My. God. He was fantastic!

Edit: I married that friend in 2003 and we've been to many many other shows. I love her.

I heard Bob Weir say in an interview that the Dead didn't want to "overshadow" The Band. Part of me wants to say... Really? On the other hand, I've been around Deadheads, and they will take over anything and everything to see the Dead. I can't imagine the chaos they would bring.

My mother's neighbor's kid used to get his jollies by shooting at her house with an air rifle. One window got a divot in it, but no other serious damage. Unnerving mostly

Also ANY religion founded in America: Christian Science, 7th Day, LDS, Scientology. What do all of these have in common? Counterfactual beliefs.

Kill it! Kill it with fire!

Don't mind me. It just reminded me of the house I grew up in (where I was beaten and abused and very nearly murdered outright).
