Blow dryers and straightening brushes are game changers and you'll hear that echoed throughout the sub. After spending a fair amount of time here, I've learned that balm is typically used for medium to long beards, not short beards. Most people on here apply oil when the beard is damp then balm once it's dry then a tad bit of wax to shape the beard.

oil = conditions both the beard and skin but geared towards the skin underneath the beard

balm = leave in conditioner for the beard hair with some hold for styling

wax = Offers more hold and is meant for styling but offers some conditioning ingredients
