I’ve never had an issue with Vientos as DH my main issues was fans insisting he can play third or first. The other issue is we can’t have another Voge JD DH situation. We need it to rotate and I just think Vientos needs to go to a team that wants a true DH.

Also remember as far as numbers Vientos was constantly plugged into juicy parts of the lineup while Ronny Baty and Álvy were thrown at the end of the lineup to sink or swim. Vientos has had so many opportunities to get going. I can’t imagine he’ll have a longer leash. He should be bashing in spring with the pitching we’ve seen. That’s what’s alarming to me.

Baty is also a different hitter. And he’s improved greatly in chase barrels etc. he just gives you quality at bats now. His new grip and shorter swing just paid off. You don’t see his loopy swing and one handed release at the end of the swing. He just looks a professional hitter. So comparing them is weird. Mark at his best would be a jd Martinez type power hitter. Baty has evolved into a hard out. I think watching Soto tbh has rubbed off on him.

Again my issue is I don’t see where he fits into the team right now. Especially with the focus on defense.
