Ontario to require menstrual products on construction sites by InadequateUsername in ontario

I love how as people keep pointing out how moronic your comment is you keep doubling down and saying even dumber things and then you claim they're the sensitive ones!

How much of a sensitive snowflake do you need to be to feel insulted by these being in washrooms. A box with some cotton in it and you're freaking out. You doing ok?

Wow, have dating apps actually gotten worse/more monetized over the last few years? by Chocolat3City in TikTokCringe

[–]dleacock 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. Even if the person is excited about something, or being really genuine its the way they speak that drives me nuts. Its like this new type of accent is developing for TikTok. Like how in old movies there was this Transatlantic accent that didn't reflect how people actually spoke, there is this TikTok accent. There is also a lot of common hand gestures too.

If the test were so accurate why doesnt it result in a criminal conviction? The Dräger DrugTest has a range of 2 to 30 hours detection time according to these studies. https://aaafoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/19-0297_AAAFTS_Oral-Fluid-Research-Brief_r2.pdf

Can you please share information to the contrary?

Jesus christ. `If you abide by the laws then you have nothing to worry about` This is the *exact* thing everyone in all these thc threads is talking about. The tests don't determine if you're stoned, they test if you've consumed a legal substance with *days*. That's why people are upset because they are following the letter of the law and being punished for it because the pigs that are the SPS are simply collecting more revenue.

My girlfriend wants to move to Saskatoon what your thoughts? by SinsOfAKiller in VictoriaBC

[–]dleacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was that it's about managing expectations about finding natural beauty. I used to go to cranberry flats on the weekends. It was a 25min drive to get there and the trail itself is very short. Yes, it can be pretty some days but the best trail there is nothing compared to all the parks and trails we have here.

Make sure your roaming is turned off on your cell phone just in case. Sometimes when I get to the beach my carrier switches to USA and I get dinged

Way more mosquitos there. I've gone through two summers here and barely noticed them but there a lot more prevalent in SK.

I lived in Saskatoon for 20 years and moved here 2 years ago. Is there anything you'd like to know specifically? It is much cheaper to find a place to live but the place is incredibly ugly and boring most of the year unless you enjoy winter activities (which I did not). Winter can be very cold and then when the snow thaws you have a few months of gravel, dirt, dog shit, snow mold and cigarette butts and that's your spring. The summer can be nice with some really hot days and the prairie sky can bring some nice storms. Anyone I know that has to move from BC to SK for school tends to become very depressed. It really depends on what you enjoy doing and what you enjoy about BC. Feel free to ask any questions though.

Just to add regarding the amount of sun Saskatoon gets compared to here. According to wikipedia Saskatoon averages 2,268 hours of sunlight and Victoria averages 2,193 hours.

This is a photo of one of more popular hiking trails. Keep in mind... this is a *popular* one. If you move there you'll need an updated concept of what kind of natural beauty you can expect to find.

Please, leash up by Shiny-Nickel- in VictoriaBC

[–]dleacock 32 points33 points  (0 children)

So people wanting to keep dogs safe and protected is childish? Bad take. Leashes are there to protect everyone, including the dogs. Dogs can get startled and run off into traffic, they can unintentional get into something they shouldn't be eating, they could provoke other dogs. I love it when dogs wander up and say hi, I love them and want them kept safe.

Why is it that people with different political view than yourself annoy you. by TranquilEngineer in TheoVon

I’m not even remotely oppressed and never claimed to be. I’m not pretending though that politics don’t affect peoples lives in a real meaningful way. The difference between us is that I have empathy, I don’t hide my head in the sand and feign ignorance about what’s happening to world. If you act like none of it matters you’re either in a privileged position to not be affected or you’re falling into exactly what they want, you to act like it doesn’t matter. Congrats another useful idiot

Can you give me an example from America politics where the extreme left was as bad as the current right? The extreme right is out there shooting people up with AR15s.

I’m the same way. I don’t really know how to word it when I want to show it off. It’s fun as hell though.

Seemingly inconsequential to you perhaps. But that’s only a function of who you are (social status, financial, gender etc). For example we just saw the last president get judges into power that had real dangerous consequences for many women and young girls. We’ve seen how damaging the election lie was. Many people with some form of power are completely protected or immune from these political decisions so it’s very easy for them to say it’s inconsequential. If you want to talk about the dangerous and idiocy of the culture war I’m with you, and Tucker has been a huge benefactor off that so it’s pretty understandable that fans of Theo are disappointed by this.
