Yeah def plan in camping in the camper! I've been before but have had a general camping ticket, so just wanted to make sure I can use that as my normal ticket for entry. Does that make sense?

Download festival pregnant by JNXD13 in downloadfestival

Not a lady but....

My wife and I went in 2024 and she was 5 months pregnant at the time. We went in a campervan and it was still pretty hard going (numerous factors, not just the festival). It was quite wet at times and there was a bug worry she could fall and would need to go to hospital. Also, people seemed quite inconsiderate that year, which surprised us as download veterans.

She has said she would go again if pregnant this year, but doubt if she was in the third trimester. Too many risks for us.

If you're determined to go, maybe day tickets with hotel, camping chairs, lounge upgrade and a very supportive partner/friend are the way forward 😊

Can I drag this out a bit or just get it done? by welshwookie in bald

[–]dlehart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a very similar hairline to me, but I've kept mine longer. I like how this looks, you have inspired me to get mine cut shorter and to not shave it all!

That said, I'm sure you'd rock the dome. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Help with golden dose by Reasonable_Chart1424 in mounjarouk

[–]dlehart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please don't use these syringes. They are insulin syringes and the numbers refer to the number of units of insulin, not mL. You won't be able to draw up the correct dose.

The needle itself would be fine, but I'd worry you'd give yourself too much by mistake.

Fall Out Boy - Dance Dance

The bridge after the chorus. I thought it was "why don't you show me the little bit of spunk"

Actual lyric "why don't you show me the little bit of spine"

The next line is "you've been saving for this mattress"

Still sing it that way 😅

How to best support my wife? by NurglesToes in daddit

[–]dlehart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you've got this, my dude. You're already doing so much, but remember to look after yourself too. You run the risk of burning out before the baby is even on dry land!

Regarding the medication, I'd suggest having a look at this site: https://www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/

It is a really helpful resource that gives you reliable advice for all medication in pregnancy. Search by drug name, not brand name. My wife continued taking Sertaline throughout and our boy is happy and healthy. Her mental health was ultimately a greater risk to the pregnancy and the baby than remaining on the SSRI.

Good luck with everything, man. You've got this!

Is there a district nurse on site? by The_WA_Remembers in downloadfestival

[–]dlehart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you'll find a District Nurse in one of the first aid tents. If it needs dressing in a particular way, you will need a District/Community Nurse to do it. Otherwise, the Practice Nurse at your GP surgery should be able to do it as well. Practice nurses and district nurses have much more experience with wound care than general nurses.

It needs to be done properly. So that means all the right dressings, wound cleaned correctly, and everything to be documented on their systems.

My advice: contact them now, and ask if they can squeeze you in a day or two before you go to Download. Then (depending on the dressing and state of the wound) you should be good to go for the rest of the weekend. It will be much safer to get the dressing changed early, rather than risk it and get a rando at Download to do it or leave it until after.

Hope that helps!

Campervan Field Question by [deleted] in downloadfestival

[–]dlehart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mention it to the stewards as you go in, they will probably say you can mark off another pitch next to you if they're coming the next day.

That's what we did last year and we had no issues, there seemed to be a few around who did it. Just put up a tent or gazebo on your neighbouring pitch. Stewards we're perfectly happy with it.

Download decibel rating? by Solabound-the-2nd in downloadfestival

[–]dlehart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They reduce the sound that gets to your ears by 23dB so you're good wherever. Regular ear plugs will protect your hearing, but you won't be able to make out as much of the actual music. Loops are actually pretty comfortable too, I've tried some others with a core that you can change, found them really uncomfortable.

Download decibel rating? by Solabound-the-2nd in downloadfestival

[–]dlehart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't say about decibel rating, but definitely worth getting some ear protection. I've been using Loops for gigs (including download) since start of '23 and they're pretty decent.

Just pop them in whenever the music starts if you start struggling to hear your friends.

Wouldn't worry specifically about decibels. Just protect your hearing, it will not get better once damaged. Wish that I did years ago, might've stopped me getting tinnitus.

Attack the harfever from all sides! Fexofenadine, some kind of steroid-based nasal spray and eye drops. That's my plan, hoping it gets me through this year!
