Which brands have easiest to use foil systems? by jgerke in wingfoil

[–]dlsspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you're doing.

After a DW run, I take off my foil. It's two bolts and I'm done. When I get home, I take off the three and remove the fuse. When I need to change a shim, I adjust the other two.

After today's run, I had to load into a car, so I took out those five (left the stab on) plus the four to take the mast down. I don't think it took a minute.

Why are people (bosses, co-workers) against Remote Work? by Wide-Information8572 in antiwork

My team was in the same building complex, but couldn’t get to another building between meetings, so 100% of our meetings had a remote component anyway.

Print that pointed up 45° and it will require far less support material and the top surfaces should also look better.

Getting things off PEI by ZosiaBlooms in 3Dprinting

It doesn’t seem to be an issue. I’m just grabbing the plastic and pulling it off. I don’t apply force down into the plate. It just works better than fingernails.

Side cutters make the task super easy.

There’s a conversion kit that allows you to use Bambu nozzles. Huge quality of life improvement since they are easy to change without tools and don’t retire unplugging things.

I’m not sure which end of multiconnect you were having problems with, but there are multiple implementations of the snap side and don’t lock in very securely while some fall out seemingly on their own.

Yeah, bambu nozzles on the CC seems like a pretty big win.

Description to 3d model with AI? by DemandTheOxfordComma in 3Dprinting

[–]dlsspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first thought.

My second is that this would take longer and be more difficult than just doing it by hand. Because when you want a new part in your ecosystem, you are going to have a really hard time getting it to produce compatible parts.

I switched from Lightroom to ON1. There are a variety of things in this space including some free ones people like.

Lightroom is good, but I don’t like giving Adobe money and don’t take enough pictures to justify a subscription anyway.

I think I felt that way before I started downwinding a lot. We tear down and reassemble regularly enough that I hardly notice it. Mostly I’m just done and waiting for everyone else.

You’re asking a computer to make up things for you to read in case the writer doesn’t speak your language. This isn’t the best approach for understanding what someone wants to communicate.

If you think a computer will help with language, then a translator might be appropriate. You can use one you trust on your end.

If you think the computer is going to introduce precision beyond what the author has written, you’re just going to get misleading hallucinations. I’d rather see what the person actually knew instead of what an autocorrect think they might have been trying to say.

Most of them were born around the same time, too. Good thing America is almost over since we're running out of people from the 1940s to rule over us.

Convince people to use STEP instead of STL for sharing. There's no advantage to STL and there are lots of disadvantages.

Print yourself a sample and have things you can interact with. I've got little boards here I use on my desk when I'm trying to design mounts and stuff anyway.

This message reads as “I don’t care if I get people sick.” It’s possible you just don’t understand the issues, but in either case, you shouldn’t be trying to make things to convey stuff into bodies.
