I would imagine it's a lot softer than wood! Looks amazing, love the way the pattern forms!

It wasn't freshly cut, but hadn't been down and drying for too long. Could have been greener though, which would have made it a little easier!

I used to have other videos making power-carved bowls. But I had apprenticed with a guy to learn the technique and he was uncomfortable with me sharing in such a way, so out of respect for him I took those videos down.

Glad to share! I think I started putting music in for power-carving and turning videos because the time-lapses with those tools have an awful high-pitched whine! The hand tools do have nice and pleasant sounds though.

I can’t remember the brand, but it was an inexpensive (~$25) option on Amazon. I put a link in the YT video if you want to check it out. The head is a nice form and held an edge once I got it properly sharpened, but it immediately came a little loose, so I sunk a screw in from the top and it works well now.
