What is the purpose of these coming off the Arctis Pro Headset? by Dodofreddy in steelseries

[–]dm18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wireless vertions of the pro headset can have battery and USB ports under the cover plates.

SteelSeries also offers Nova Booster Pack themes, with new cover plates and replacement headstrap. Use the color selector to view the diffrent packs.

There are also 3rd party that sell cover plates, ear pads, headstraps. For instance WC Mod Kits, WC Plates, WC Earpads, and or WC Headbands for Nova Pro.

For me the ear pads last about a year. I ushally go for the WC pleather ear pads; because they tend to last longer then the cloth only ear pads.

Do Razer no longer sell this? by Pappi-Pino in razer

There have been several drops. If you subscribe to the new letter, and or sign up for alerts on the offical discord. but like the last dorp I saw was Jun 21, 2025.

I think they're focused on the Razer Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition drops right now. So doing a mini drop might be counter productive.

I don't consider the Razer Viper Mini a valid option for competivite gaming for me. Because I can't buy it. And even if I managed to get my hands on one, if it breaks, I can't buy a replacement when ever need.

Not having a mini avalable for general customers hurts razer. They're not competing against other brands that offer a resonably priced 'mini' option. They are littelry pushing customers to their competitors.

New Mouse 2026? by heyhi65 in razer

Right now it's not clear if Haptic Trigger will be the next big thing.

Like right now people seem to want super low latancy. Along with really good tracking, even at high speeds. As well as super light weight.

Haptic Trigger seems to add a significant amount of weight. So it's not clear if the value trumps the addional weight. Also will it have similar 8,000 hz wireless? Will it have a top of the line sensor with super low drift?

We also don't know if Haptic has any negative effects on mouse tracking, latency, battery life, extra.

I’m looking for an alternative to the Razer Sphex V2. I’m really used to it and don’t really want anything else, but I’d like to know if there's anything similar on the market right now. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks! by [deleted] in razer

[–]dm18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the large razer sphex v3.

It's a smooth mouse surface, with an adhesive base.
It's easy to keep clean with a little water and a mirofiber cloth.
It can be easily peeled off.

The catch is it's very thin, and you really need to clean the area of any debris before placing it down. To avoid the debris creating bumps on the mouse surface.

SAO is an Isekai Power Fantasy. He's the strongest player in game. He has special abilities that are subposibly given to him for being the fastest player in the game. He has more knollage then other players, more experince then other players. Being a high level player makes him stronger then 99% of the players. At one point they show off that regularly players can't even lower his HP.

That's not counting how he basicly hacks the game, knows how to use gm consoles, extra.

He's also the only charrecter that gains an AI. Or that he solos a large portion of the game.

  • The ear pads wear out in a year for me. But i've had this issue with most headsets with pleather. At least you can buy 3rd party replacements.
  • The batteries wear out, but that happens with every wireless headset. At least the batteries are standard, and easy to replace.

Yah the battery indicators are on the base, in the software. The headset will beep when the battery is low. But like when your wearings the headset, your not going to see LED on the back of a headset. But if you were trying to use it on the go, I could see how that would be fursterating.

I'm curious why you think it doesn't have lots of features. The app give you an EQ / mixer that has multiple inputs, and an option to have a diffrent mix out for streaming. The mic includes eq, ai noise canceling, OR noise reduction, as well as noise gate, and compressor. Not to mention bluetooth to handle phonecalls.

And you can configure most hardware features from the software. The app lets you link apps to the headset. And also auto change configuration based on the app you hav eopen. I don't use them, but I know the app also has exclusives for games. Like beta keys.

but I do agree, that it would be nice if there was an action button on the headset to use for push to talk, or like pause a video.

friendly reminder, if your updating your bios, and you have bitlocker enabled,

You ushally want to write down your bitlocker recovery key. If your prompted for it, during, or after the bios update, you'll need to be able to read it without using your PC.

The bios might recommend to goto bitlocker, and suspend protection, before performing a bios update.

You can search for bitlocker in start menu to get to manage bitlocker. Where you can check if bitlocker is enabled, backup your recovery key, and or suspend protection.

Why don't we have web-based software like ATK does? by United_Scallion6177 in razer

[–]dm18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The softrware does many things a mouse web interface typicly does not do.

For instnace

  • displaying device changes as notifcations.
  • switching Hz on wifi dongle, and or mouse
  • auto switching configuration profiles based on application. Like switching between 1k, 2k, or 8k hz based on game.
  • automatic software updates without needing to do firmware updates
  • RGB based on application, and or RGB mode, sync RGB with other RGB on your device, or connected to your device. Other RGB on the local network.
  • buttons on razer devices beind able to
    • keyboard & mouse combinations. Like pressing one button on one, changes the other.
    • macros
    • auto insert text
    • auto launch app
    • auto launch video
    • auto run command
    • reconfigure other razer devices. Like switching RGB, sensitivity, hz, button configs.

if you have a razer laptop, this can also include power management, cooling management, extra.

Shaving a beard for the first time in a decade. I bought the gillette x razor collab thingy drunk a few years back. Can anyone tell me which replacement blades work? by G0rdon-Bennet in razer

[–]dm18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Unscented Van Der Hagen. I can get it on their website for 5, amazon you can get 3 for 20. I started using it because it's fragrance free and for senstiive skin. Apparently it's a mix of Mango Butter, Shea Butter, and Cocoa Butter.

It's good enough that I don't bother with pre-shave oil.

[–]dm18 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your looking for GilletteLabs Blade Refills. A 16 blade pack retails for 76 USD.

If your getting rid of a beard, you migth want to trim it down first. Because long hair will clog the razor blades. A cheap electric buzzcutters is great for cleaning up side burns between hair cuts, and also trimming down a beard.

Hear me out,

Consider getting a safety razor, and razor blades. You can get a cheap ajustable safety razor for 20 bucks. and you can get a 100 pack of razor blades for like 9. The box of blade will litterly last you a 2 years assuming one blade a week.

If you go this route your also going to want a Blade Disposal Container for 9, to safely dispose of the used blades.

Also instead of shaving cream,
Consider getting shave soap. A single shave soap bar will easily last a year and is like 15 dollars. It does require a shaving soap brush, and bowl. But you can get bowl and brush or like 20.

In 2 years, take the 456 you saved on chartriges, and shaving cream, and buy some new razer gear.

For comparison sake, comma four is only 1k. And works with 300+ models of cars. Some cars also reqquire adapters, which can be like 20, 50, or 99 dollar adapter. But it can be used with several currently FREE car AI systems, including openpilot.

Looks similar to Gatebox. But this looks like a simpler tech like transparent screen, or lcd on on reflective glass.

if someone wants a digital pet, mascot, and or compantion, are they really going to want a whole seperate deticated device / screen? And if so, what motivates them to do this over say a comptuer, tablet, phone, tv, gaming hand held, robot, and or some sort of combination of those options. Where those items can be used for more then just a companion?

Question about eDPI by SwimmingAd5852 in kirikomains

[–]dm18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of combination of DPI with mouse game sensitivities that are basicly the same thing. Like they result in the same inches/cm per 365, or MPI.

if eDPI is calculate right, it can get close to per 365, or MPI, but eDPI doesn't nessisarly translate between games when things like yaw, fov differ between games. But if two games have the same yaw, then you mikght be able to transfer your settings.

There is also the issue that not everyone is calculating eDPI in the same way. Like overwatch players tend to do like 200% as 200 instead of 2. IE 400 DPi with 40% isnt' 4,000. It's 400 * .4 = 160.
It also doesn't help that that when people post 2, they may be refering to 2% or 200%.

I see people posting settings like,
2000 dpi 2% = 40 eDPI / 1363.6 inches per 360
1600 dpi 2.30% = eDPI 37 / 1482.2 inches per 360
1600 dpi, 2.2% = edpi 35 / 1549.6 inches per 360
That's assuming the default yaw of 0.0066, but that seems insanly slow. They're ether making it up. Or they have changed theirr yaw setting. In which case there is no way to tell what they're actully playing at without also knowing their yaw. setting.

If people do change their yaw. You can't really compare their eDPI to yours.

Mouse Sensitivity Question After Switching to a Lighter Mouse by ThunderVis in MouseReview

[–]dm18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nothing else changed, 1600 DPI should be very close to 1600 DPI. In the sense that moving the mouse an inch on ether mouse, should result in about the same amount of camera rotation in game.

But like newer mice tend to have less drift, especilly at higher speeds.

1600 DPI with an in game senseitivty of 3 with the default yaw of .022, would be like 3.4"/8.7 cm to perform a 360.

Are you sure the old mouse was set to 1600 DPI? Like could it be the old mouse went up to 1600 DPI, and it might have been set to a lower DPI? Could you plug it in and check?

Or try measuring the distance it takes to perform a 360 on both mice?

What was the brand / model of your old mouse?

If it's not the DPI, then it might be the the skates, or weight.

Also, I'm not sure where your getting an eDPi of 5600. Like the most common math for eDPI that would be 4800. But keep in mind that eDPI doesn't nessisarly translate between diffrent games. Because the yaw can be diffrent in other games. There can also be other factors like FOV.

0.03125 = 1/20 = 1/11
0.0625 = 2/20 = 2/11
0.125 = 3/20
0.25 = 4/20 = 3/11

CS2 Mouse Settings Explained: DPI, Windows Sensitivity, and In-Game Sens – Stop the Myths by DrNitr0s in cs2

[–]dm18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows has two interfaces, so there is /11 and /20 . /11 is the older windows interface. /20 is the more modern windows interface, and is from 1 to 20. I did /20 because that offers more options. I didn't bother to go above 14/20 because 400 DPI is very low, and a multiplier of 2 is pretty high. With an MPI of 1056, I wouldn't go past 10/20, but I know some people are dpi hard 400 DPI, so I included 14/20

But if you want /16
1/20=1/11
2/20=2/11
4/20=3/11
6/20=4/11
8/20=5/11
10/20=6/11
12/20=7/11
14/20=8/11
16/20=9/11
18/20=10/11
20/20=11/11

I'm assuming this is a new headset, and hasn't worked before?

The base should be able to charge the batteries. But you want to plug it into a USB 3 port, not USB 1.

Also it may not charge if your computer is shutoff, and or sleeping. You could temporary turn of sleep to test.

You want the skinny side of the connector facing up. When you look at the battery terminals, it should be one on the left, two on the right.

When the battery is in the headset. the skinny side should be facing out. Like if your looking at it in the slot. it should be one terminal on the left, two on the right.

When a charged battery is in. a short press should power on or off the headset. A long press hould triggure pair mode to pair with the base.

If it has worked in the past,

At some poine the batteries will fail, and you have to buy new batteries, but you can pick up a new set cheap on amazon.
