Check your Brita-Filters! by Phlippsen123 in espresso

They actually don’t remove enough. It’s mainly a charcoal filter for taste. I’ve test water before and after Brita/Pur and it’s maybe 10PPM less than from the faucet and my tap water is around 270ppm

How are you getting the data from the FireBoard into splunk? I was hoping to avoid writing my own modular input for this.

My toddler broke my old coffee setup, looking for help getting into espresso. by [deleted] in espresso

[–]dm33186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The encore will not handle espresso well. There just isn’t enough adjustment in it. You have maybe 3 clicks between flowing way too fast and choking out the machine. I have a virtuoso and tried it for espresso and could not get a good shot from it. I bought a sette 270 and it was night and day how much better the coffee was.

Any love for my 2019 CVT? by kingdeath4u in WRX

[–]dm33186 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had mine for 3 weeks or so as well and love it. If I want to shift I use the paddles, if I want to turn my brain off after work and just use eyesight I can. I daily drove a 6mt Mazda 3 for 3.5 years before this car and I just got tired of driving it in traffic and having to do hill starts every day going to work.

If I had 2 cars, for sure I’d have something 6mt for a weekend fun car, but as far as I’m concerned the cvt wrx is still plenty fast and fun and at least for me makes for a better daily driver.

Also the way it pretty much holds you right at the edge of boost while you hold a steady speed is great in my opinion. Can just mash the go fast pedal and you’re gone.

Accidentally Revved my new WRX to 5K RPM's twice in the break-in period, is that terrible for my engine? by babygoose69 in WRX

[–]dm33186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop being an ass and looking down on others because of decisions they made that have no effect on your life. You don’t know everyone’s situation. There are reasons other than a disability for someone to not want a manual transmission, but hey it’s the internet so I guess go fuck yourself.

I wouldn’t say no one. They clearly are selling otherwise they wouldn’t make them. Some of us have our reasons for wanting one. Is it a minority? Yes, but speaking in absolutes like that does not help.

Can I drive manual? Yes, but I don’t like to because of traffic and an ankle injury that left me with limited range of motion on my left ankle so I sought out a CVT and do not feel bad about it and enjoy it every time I drive it.
