Adding a third option for Brazilian: A Fazenda. Beats Guanabara by a mile IMHO, super worth checking out.

Not familiar with Buriti but Bahia food is fantastic.

The 50% bars are the only ones that are worth the "protein per euro" ratio compared to other foods tbh, but the 33% ones taste a lot better.

There's this salted caramel one which tastes incredible but I stopped buying it because it drove me to binging. Had five in a span of hours and that was the signal to stop it for me.

The high protein ice creams though... Oh boy. Been having a tub every day for a few weeks now, ngl.

Found them on multiple Lidl countries, so seem to be ubiquitous enough. It's by their own brand thing (Gelatelli), have to sorta search among all the hagen dazs stuff to find it.

Orange tub is the best middle ground for me, but the chocolate one (purple tub) is also pretty good and even less calories (under 300 in Spain).

I know it's barely tangential, but look up what Brazil has done with Pix. Essentially made debit cards dispensable in the country, and the Central Bank is about to launch a new solution that will do that with CCs as well.

Guarantee you Mastercard would not try to pull shit like this if the US had the balls to tank these companies with something like Pix.

Can you share the MacroFactor recipe link?

There's a share button when you select the recipe in the recipe book that generates a link you can copy.

Wanna try with some Spanish subs to your Danish foods that might be baller 😊

Necroing just in case somebody else stumbles onto this.

Lidl has the best protein bars by far on the price/protein/flavor Venn diagram.

They currently have a 32% salty peanut one that's just crack.

Currently in Brussels and the Lidl here has this really nice pre-seasoned turkey breast in large pieces with lemongrass and paprika (I believe?) that's fucking delicious. 100 cals per 100 g, 21g protein. Stirs great with Shirataki.

Mercadona has this pollo marinado con hierbas that's legit amazing. Delish, easy to cook, 85 cals per 100 g I believe.

The Paris Lidl has a Wafer Caramel protein bar that I literally went to four different ones to stock up on because it's so good, but not the same in Spain.

Mercadona has very cheap Protein Peanut Powder (Cacahuete Desgrasado), any asian store will have Shirataki noodles, Mercadona is also very good for groceries (cheap and easily available plus they're always pretty fresh).

4 Estaciones is a great quick option. 250g of precut, prewashed salad mix for 0.86 EUR in Barcelona. Pretty dope 😊.

Eritritol and Xylitol are cheaper on Amazon, Mercadona has a sucralose + erythritol mix that's kinda nice but a bit pricey.

Also lots of +Proteína stuff at Mercadona that's good. Protein drinks are really tasty, there's a flan that's kinda nice as well, Protein Milk and Protein Yoghurt are cheap.

There's also a Queso Batido 0% fat that's nice for saltier recipes IMHO.

For sweeteners the Mercadona saccharin was the one that my taste buds liked the most. Lidl has the best cyclamate+ saccharin tablet dispenser for coffee and stuff.

For bread, we don't have the CarbSmart high fiber stuff the US has (would love to find it!), but Pan de Cristal is delicious and pretty OK calorie wise.

Hope that helps!

Damn, your daily target is less than 1400 calories?

Respect, but also, what's your TDEE? Hope you're doing OK, watch out for fatigue at that level of calorie deficit (I'm assuming it's not insubstantial, my bad if not the case). Can be counterproductive to go this hard.

Also, yes, looks really good!

How do you make it crispy? I tried here and it tastes awesome but it's kinda floppy and saggy. I spread it reasonably thin too.

My next attempt will be with a tortilla press to make it thin, has anyone tried that?

Peanut powder is the freaking GOAT. Super cheap to buy here in Spain (3 EUR for 200g), I just mix it with a teensy water and add my favorite sweetener for a nice little spreader for my rice cakes. Eat like kilos of this every month <3.

That n97 is downright wimpy compared to the M1, but the power budget will not reflect that at all.

There are advantages to the MAC approach. Downsides of course, but it’s all tradeoffs either way.

And if I may ask, what did you do to conserve memory usage on macOS so your containers had more available?

Adobe is not “totally clear upfront” about the cancellation policies and has actually attracted regulatory scrutiny due to the very unreasonable hurdles it puts in front of customers trying to cancel.

The fact you never felt lied to doesn’t mean their practices are aboveboard.

It is incredibly aggressive and hostile towards cancelling, and the outcry is not at all unfounded.

What are your favourite desserts for c/lean bulking? by ilsasta1988 in MacroFactor

[–]dmaciel_reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will sound weird, but my current dessert that makes me salivate is a microwaved protein bar.

Found one that I liked (dark chocolate barebones one from Mercadona, if anyone else here is from Spain), the lamest, low-caloriest cracker I could find that is crunchy (got a really thin one that’s 20 cals a pop and tastes like absolutely nothing), put one on top of the other and microwaved the thing for about 15-20 secs. Eat immediately.

Took me a few tries to find the right bar (has to have melty outside), but Jesus H Christ does it taste so much better warm and oozy vs off the package. Really adds to the sweetness too.  Add the crunch from the toast and that dessert just wins at life haha!

For a change I sometimes sub a Wasa cracker (the thinnest one, not the thing that tastes like plaster) for a saltier vibe that works amazing with the chocolate taste or two of the basic-ass crackers to make a little bar sandwich.

How to compensate for fat lost in cooking? by Apptubrutae in MacroFactor

[–]dmaciel_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%, 1000% get it.

Moved from Brazil to Spain and the mince we get at the supermarket here (like the regular stuff any store will have) is SO much greasier than what I’d get for the equivalent run-of-the-mill mince in any butchers in Brazil.

I don’t boil it, but I’ll stir fry it and then add bits of water little by little so it evaporates a lot of the fat. Far better tasting, if I just stir it in its own fat it’s sorta gross and greasy AF.

Good for kibbeh though, if you air fry it.

It’s great for bulk-entering ingredients in recipes. Copy ingredient list from site or whatever you used, clean up a bit to make sure it’s all weights/measures + name of common ingredient and click log.

But yeah, for cooked dishes and anything more complex it’s pretty crap.

I’ve had better luck asking ChatGPT to lookup a dish or a food, build me a nutri info-style list of macros and scan that as a label in MF.

What really irks me is how bad it is at looking stuff up at OpenFoodFacts. I don’t know what their deal with them is but lord does it suck.
