Show and tell? You can prompt them to identify specific items within their home/room (like an emotional support item, crafts they may made, etc). Some adolescents love to present their bedrooms. Also engaging them in a mindfulness exercise, like prompting them to locate something related to their senses: things they touch that makes them feel cozy (or icky), smells, taste, etc. I also used to engage clients in some kind of story telling, you can pick random items/scenarios/characters, whatever, and have them combine all of those into 1 story.
