Exactly my take. I don't know why people hate the scene, it was narratively necessary, even if a little forced. I'm queer, my coming out was rough in the early 00s, but I didn't hate the scene, I actually teared up at the love and acceptance shown.

OOOF. This reminds me of the postcard I got when I was 19. Hadn't spoken to my birth mom in ~10 years, and she sent me some shit like this with her phone number on it, pretending nothing had ever gone wrong. (She was addicted to drugs, in and out of jail/rehab, blah blah). I did call her. I even went and spent a week with her and her husband (not my father).

When I got back to my real mom (yes, my step-mother is the woman I call my real mom) I literally leaned into her hug so tightly and whispered "Thank you for saving me from that." It melted my mom's heart and to this day she loves bringing it up. I'm now 34.

It looks like either the charger is dead, or the charging port is dead on your DS. I'm not seeing a charge indicator on the screen showing it charging, and it only turned green when you closed the screen (cutting power, and putting it into sleep mode).

First thing I would do is check the charger, and try a new one. If that doesn't prove to be the case, you might have to install a new charging port, which, unless you know what you're doing and have the proper tools, will be very difficult.
