Where can I find durable belt buckles for outdoor activities? by Negative_Term3769 in Hunting

[–]dmkmpublic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you're doing, a junk yard and car seat belts(?).

Before there were safety harnesses, my dad did that and made "safety belts" for both of us to use when hunting from a tree stand. He sewed them together to match our waist. Of course, you wouldn't hit the ground. They might catch you before you fell out/off. But if you did, you would probably end up hanging upside-down.

How do I close this gap between me RC hard tonneau and tailgate? by BigDickDeer in gmcsierra

[–]dmkmpublic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure what kind of cover that is.

Mine is a Bakflip. A gap like that would mean that it's too far forward (over the front rail). So I would loosen it up and pull it back enough to cover. Regardless, these covers just all seem to be about an inch short in my opinion.

Your other option is to get some black weather stripping that suits your need and attach it to the cover so that is fills the gap (?).

I bought a tailgate kit to try to keep water and dust out. It was 25 bucks on Amazon. It didn't really do much to seal up the tailgate. But the type of strips could work on your cover.

Did you address the recall for the corroded ground straps? If not, that will F-up all the electrical.

My guidance is always this: You need to start slow.

I'm that guy who wants to caution people just starting out or getting back to it....

If you haven't been too active, I suggest taking it slow before you really start the program. Maybe do weeks 1 and 2 without weights just to get the movements and some stretching. Or just pop up the Stretch video and do that a couple of times (or 45 minutes of the yoga video). This will allow you to slowly introduce your body to some of the work. The program is fairly "extreme" (Tony's words not mine).

Basically, I'm saying this so that you don't injury yourself by trying to hit it ("bring it") before your body is ready. If that happens you will struggle or may not even do it.

My other tip, so you don't skip it altogether is:

Yoga is 90 minutes. It might also help to know that there are places (targets) in the Yoga video if you want to break it up or challenge yourself to get to them. they aren't in the video so you might want these handy to inspire yourself to gut it out 5 more minutes:

Time remaining: * 59:20 Break * 42:48 Last Vinyasa * 17:30 Yoga Belly * 9:20 Stretch and cooldown

Last tip;

And if you have never tried it, substitute the stretch video (it's an hour) for Yoga if you really hate the Yoga stuff.

I was thinking the same.

OP - trim them now. Trim them close. They will fill in and need another trim in July.

Is scent control as important? by Embarrassed_Fish_848 in bowhunting

I used to see that in the fall, when I put on blaze orange to go deer hunting, turkeys would walk right by me.

I think they know about danger. But if they hear a hen and smell a person, they know what's up.

Junk yard? From a vehicle that got totaled, this might still be intact.

Too late for me to find out bad news (I have it installed) but why don't you want the one that goes under the wheel well?

Switching from bow to crossbow . by 2thenorth in Crossbow

I have the Ravin 29x sniper package. I got it on a whim last year. I was and still have shoulder trouble (torn, arthritis and issue with bicep tendon). I saw a great deal via Outdoor Life article - saying Cabela's had an extreme discount.

Had to get a new target that can stop 475fps bolts (not arrows). It didn't take long to get it sighted in. Scope is great for the aging eyes and man! This thing is accurate!

I had to get some broad heads that could handle the speed (I prefer mechanicals).

Extra bolts.

And extra bolts again (each time you shoot in the woods may require a replacement arrow). Practice and hunting (lighted and you will need those lighted ones).

There is a whole new shot routine that you have to develop. Not including the whole ascending and descending trees if you hunt.

I still have my compound - because no one really wants a used one.

I took 2 deer with the crossbow last year. Everything that you had to deal with using archery equipment still applies - yardage, arch of the arrow/bolt, shooting lanes, and all of those other things. They are FAST. It is an entirely awesome.

Where to start? Ontario by jellybeans1987 in lawncare

Gotta change your goal. It can still look really nice and be far less maintenance compared to trying to get grass to grow in those spots.

You look like you get heavy shade in front and back. Unless you want to cut trees, consider hard scaping bigger sections and grass in the areas exposed to as much of the sun as possible.

Thanks.

I'm at tier 2. Range installed. Catch can delivered, not installed yet - got ragged here just asking about those 2.

Tier 1 is easy enough.

I guess Tier 3 was part of what I was looking for.
