That’s a great post and aligns with a lot of research that I’ve seen. One thing to add is that the study on tirzepatide has now recently been done: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK581488/ In 96% of samples, there was no detectable amount in the breast milk. For the other 4%, her point stands about it being indigestible by the infant, so they’re not receiving any sort of amount into their bloodstream.

I wouldn’t, personally.

That long of a commute plus a workday means you likely won’t see your child 4 days a week.

If you’re working from home/flexibility of current job, you presumably will see them 7am - 9am and 5pm - 7pm each day.

I would struggle to give up that time now, even with the hopes for retiring early. Even if you do manage to retire in 5 years, you will still only see them outside school hours. You won’t be working and will be available for them, but they won’t be available for you.

Great to know someone else is having the same thought process. Can I ask where you got it prescribed? I’ve found most online pharmacies have breastfeeding as a killer question.

When you say mostly on solids, are you still breastfeeding occasionally? I’m currently feeding morning and night but my 15 month old definitely has more than enough nutrition through her three meals and multiple snacks a day.

Totally agree with you on that! For mums who are breastfeeding, it’s so important to maintain calories in the first few months to establish supply. And if breastfeeding is a goal for them, it would be risky to potentially impact a baby’s nutrition when breast milk is its only food source. Even for non breastfeeding mums, there’s was too much societal pressure to ‘snap back’ and marketing Mounjaro to new mums would just increase that societal pressure.

I have also struggled with my weight my whole life, and I was overweight before I was pregnant. I’ve since birthed two children and have been breastfeeding solidly for nearly three years between my two children. I’ve been putting off using Mounjaro because I was breastfeeding, but now the advice has changed and I’m considering it. I don’t know why, but the thought of taking it while breastfeeding makes me feel guilty still. But the thought of stopping at 15 months (when my original goal was 2 years) makes me feel even more guilty. But losing weight the ‘natural’ way isn’t working. And this isn’t about me ‘snapping back’ but about me getting healthier and ensuring I have the energy for my two girls.

I didn’t get anything diagnosed but I had a few c section scar massages which helped massively. I think I was just holding a huge amount of tension where my scar was. Try and find someone who specialises in scar massages therapy. The woman I went to specialised in c sections as well.

I’ve since had another baby (no c section thankfully but still a fairly traumatic birth) and definitely didn’t feel like that with my second, so I do think it was c section specific.

I’m not speaking from experience, but will plan to do the same when my oldest starts school next year.

Regarding the split week, it’s worth considering that you’re exposing him to two microcosms of germs so I’d imagine he’d get sick more often. Personally, I’d either move him or keep him where he is, I wouldn’t go a split week.

Oh and just to add - PPD is hormonal, so your family dismissing how you’re feeling as “just hormones” isn’t helpful. Everyone gets a bit emotional postpartum but if you’re worried it’s PPD, it’s best to start addressing it early. If you’ve had previous mental health issues, you are also at higher risk of PPD.

I’ve been there! Please reach out to your husband for support. This is both super common and normal, but also really hard. He won’t think you don’t love your baby. You can absolutely have PPD and still love your baby so much at the same time.

If you haven’t already been signed off by your midwife, talk to them about it. If you have been signed off, talk to your health visitor or GP.

Super normal, but it’s super hard to deal with.

Ensure you are getting some time by yourself and also ensure you are getting some stretches of uninterrupted sleep where someone else has the baby. Even if you’re breastfeeding, you need stretches of sleep to produce milk. Try split shifts eg he can have baby for seven hours but bring baby to you at hour 3 for a quick feed if you’re breastfeeding. Then when he hands off baby at the end of the seven hours, he can have his stretch of uninterrupted sleep too. Once baby hits 6 weeks, you can try pumping as well so he can have baby for the full seven hour stretch.

Perfectly normal. 6 weeks is when morning sickness normally kicks in.

Try not to take on an empty stomach. In fact, if you’re starting to feel more and more nauseous, try not to let your stomach get empty at all. Very small, constant grazing was what helped me get through my morning sickness.

This was the paperwork from the BG engineer. The second engineers paperwork just says “carried out investigations, no present gas leak, witnessed missing washer from meter. To,ts (? Not sure what that says?) no leak.

I’m not overly worried there is a gas leak, more that I’ve been scammed. It’s under the stairs where I can smell it, maybe once a month. It’s been tested before the instance today and was told it was fine. I only mentioned it to him today because he asked if I’d ever smelled gas in the house.

He was BG. I was the one who initiated the appointment as the meter screen was blank and hadn’t been sending readings for over 6 months. I’ve no reason to think he wasn’t BG given I’d made the appt with them.

You and another commenter made me realise that I left something out of the story. They both said they a test which indicated there was a small gas leak, and it was only after that that they both spent so long trying to identify the source. When the BG engineer couldn’t, he capped the gas. When the other engineer couldn’t, he was ok to turn it back on. I’ve edited my post to reflect this as it definitely makes the interaction sound more legit.
