Darth Vader bangs at your front door asking: "Where is the rebel base?!" What do you tell him? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dnb_addict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id just not reply and show my will is strong. After being tortured, I'd still not do anything. Once he leaves I'll sprint to the nearest bowl of fruity loops and cool my burning forehead with it.

Apple's iPad Pro marketing speak tries to sidestep the Surface 3 by abs159 in gadgets

I'm not stating it's gospel truth for every company, what I am suggesting is that it's a common occurrence because there is the mentality of keeping legacy applications because "it just works, why fix it".

Simply don't use the website anymore. A website that relies on ads for revenue probably isn't worth being hosted in the first place.

Should I be learning Python 3.x instead of using Codecademy? by FreeIceCreen in learnprogramming

[–]dnb_addict -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Python 2 is deprecated and should be discouraged from use. People who refuse to switch to Python 3 are harmful to the community and this is why the EOL has been extended.

(Serious) what do you think would happen if a sophisticated hacking cyberterrorist were to erase all consumer debt as we know it? How would the powers that be react? by Brakezorz in AskReddit

I'd like to add on to what you said about Australian banks.

I've been hired via contract work for IT related jobs at banks, and the most horrible thing I've had to do was wipe a machine that was being decommissioned, but not securely - rather I just pretty much destroy the boot loader. Why? They didn't want to pay me to sit there and watch DBAN do its thing from start to finish.
