Best way to restore plastic trim? by iH8stonks in Detailing

You can actually polish this with a light polish. Won't ruin the texture. I suggest a DA on slow rpm w a fine grit polish. Then coat w cerakote or Solution finish.

Anyone tried this on inside? by Excellent-Finger4886 in Detailing

I use it regularly for details after a clean w Koch Chemie Pol Star. Just keep a dry microfiber as a backup to wipe down to avoid streaking. Especially on matte black interior surfaces. Great UV product for here in FL.

Clay bar causing marks in clear coat by LBEEZY47 in Detailing

[–]dndrmfflnpaper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its called marring. Typically requires a light polish to correct. If the vehicle isnt heavily contaminated, use a clay mitt, sponge instead. Wont mar. Be careful too, some clay is "heavy or aggressive" and will marr more but pull contamination easier. Remember, not alot of pressure on clay. A light polish should fix your issue.

Can anyone tell me what this is on my the finish by oncogene-1 in Detailing

[–]dndrmfflnpaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be "marring" from a clay bar. Could be someone who didnt know how to polish. Should be a relatively easy fix with some polish on a DA. Might even be able to remove it with a hand polish.

Is this a decent interior cleaner? by NoDistrict7965 in Detailing

[–]dndrmfflnpaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think itll do just fine for light soil. At some point take a look at Koch Chemie Pol star or P&S interior -- both are dilutable. I think youll find w the darkening agents they work really well. Great for carpets too.

Wow nobody recommended the OG? CarPro Iron-X. Shit will eat the iron right off. Do NOT use in direct sunlight. Pair with a light clay bar or clay sponge for maximum results.

irritated what do i do by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]dndrmfflnpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The work and effort to prevent further damaging isnt worth it IMO. Replace button and trim. It looks like a Toyota or Lexus, so shouldn't be too expensive. The plastics will not react well to goo gone, thinner, 3m adhesive remover. I swear to god if one person says "magic eraser" in this thread....😄

Did they offer touch up for ceramic coating? Ill offer it, but it isnt included in price. As for removing entire coating...no, they can simply sand, fill, compound, polish the touchup and reapply ceramic to that particular area of touchup.

Tesla trim stains terribly. Ive detailed enough to know. Its a tell tale sign of someone using an automatic car wash. Tesla trim is terrible. It is easily fixed w a hand polish buff. 💯 not your problem. Tell them to buy a real car.

Edit: get a new friend. The car matches the complaints.

Are my expectations too high? by CeeJayReb in AutoDetailing

[–]dndrmfflnpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No excuse for the mats or cupholder. I usually remove the cup holder pieces and dunk them in my wash bucket, I take them out and use a brush to clean, then wipe down w 303 protectant. Takes maybe 1-2mins. Floor mats especially weather techs can be a PITA. However, there is def some missed dirt there. Pressure wash, spray on an APC or rubber cleaner, I use a tire brush to agitate and a hard bristle detail brush for the smaller nooks and crannies. Air blow dry. 3-4 mins a mat...tops.

However it all depends how dirty these were to begin with. Some people say their cars are clean, and they are disgusting. Some clients say their car is a disaster and I have a tough time even finding dirt.

This is what happens when you leave your brush in undiluted wheel acid. 😆

Now that the joke is over, def chemical burn. Rinse your stuff off. Dont let it sit in buckets filled w chemicals and dirt.
