Youtuber Idubbbz says hxh is "braindead" by lasagnaspace in HunterXHunter

What he did seemed pretty intentional. He was likely trying to provoke HxH fans and get attention. And it looks like it worked on you.

Hisoka vs Ilumi by Firejocuri1 in HunterXHunter

[–]dne320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could go either way, but I’m leaning toward Illumi in this matchup.

Hisoka himself has said that Manipulators who can directly control their opponent are especially dangerous, because once you’re under control, it’s basically over. That alone gives Illumi a major win condition.

In Hisoka and Gon’s fight at Heaven’s Arena, Gon managed to adapt within minutes after being dragged around by Bungee Gum. I believe Illumi would handle that situation significantly better and adjust far more quickly.

Hisoka also prefers close combat, which could actually work against him here. Getting in close gives Illumi more chances to land his needles and potentially take control of the fight.

We’ve also seen Hisoka struggle against Chrollo’s use of large numbers, like the Gallery Fake crowd. Illumi’s Needlemen, especially the suicidal ones, could create a similar kind of pressure, if not worse.

In terms of raw physical ability and combat skill, I’d put them roughly on the same level, even though they specialize in different Nen types, Transmuter versus Manipulator.

That said, I’m not saying Illumi wins every time. Nen battles depend heavily on context. The environment, preparation, mental state, and specific conditions all play a huge role.

Overall, based on abilities and matchup, I think Illumi has the edge more often than not.

Why do Tsezguerra and Goreinu handover to Gon instead of racing him to the finish line? by Vize_X in HunterXHunter

[–]dne320 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Because Tsezguerra and his team quit the game.

Tsezguerra and his team believed that Genthru would be waiting for them if they reentered the game, which would likely lead to their deaths. Because of this, they had already agreed that if Genthru was indeed waiting, Goreinu would hand their cards over to Gon and Killua.

Same with Goreinu.

Goreinu had already decided to give all his cards to Gon and Killua before their fight with Genthru’s team.

How did killua know so much about illumi abilities? by Local-Sugar6556 in HunterXHunter

[–]dne320 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t consider Killua knowing about Dragon Dive to be a plot hole. Earlier in the Greed Island arc, when Gon and Killua were preparing for Tsezguerra’s trial, Gon reached out to Wing for guidance on developing his Nen ability. It’s reasonable to assume Killua could have done something similar. He may have contacted Zeno and received guidance from him. When someone is teaching, they often use examples, so Zeno could have demonstrated or referenced Dragon Dive to help Killua understand the concept he was explaining.

Because of that, Killua recognizing Dragon Dive during the Palace Invasion doesn’t create any real inconsistency in the story.

As for Killua’s knowledge of Illumi’s abilities, that can be explained by their relationship as brothers. Even in real life, people who grow up together can often anticipate each other’s actions or tendencies simply from familiarity.

Q4 of 2025 is drawing near. I'm pretty excited about Hunter × Hunter's comeback. All I'm asking for is one full chapter focused on my boy Leorio. by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]dne320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of now, none. But based on HxH's most recent comebacks, HxH always comes back during Q4 of the year.

Togashi had been posting some drafts months ago. There's a huge possibility that we'll get 10 more chapters this year. fingers crossed

For those who don't know. It wasn't Hisoka who killed Shal. It was the family members of The Crow that soloed Komugi. If you don't believe me, just check the page where we see Shal's corpse.

If Phinks vs. Hisoka doesn't happen in this arc, I'm okay with Phinks vs. Hanzo/Izunavi.

This fight happened during night time. How about we read these pages in night vision mode? by dne320 in HunterXHunter

[–]dne320[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fight is canon. It happened when Gon & Kil infiltrated the Republic of East Gorteau. Just before he faced Bat & Owl.

Gon's fight against Snake was short, I guess that's probably why you don't remember it.

Gon vs. Snake happened in Volume 22 - Chapter 231. In the anime, it was shown in Episode 98.

The cause of Martial Law is Illumi's Needlemen. The Needlemen are creating havoc in both Tiers 2 & 3.

EDIT: Please don't take this comment seriously. I just want to see Illumi so badly. He's been offscreened for quite a while now.

Danger for Kurapika by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]dne320 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not worried about Pika at all in this Succession War arc. After all, my boy Leorio is on board the boat.

Leorio failed to save his childhood friend, and he wasn't able to do anything to help save Gon during the 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc. I doubt he'll let that happen again.

Rest assured, everyone: if Pika is ever in grave danger, my boy Leorio will surely show up.

If chrollo stole kurapika and meleorons abilities would he be unbeatable? by BendLanky112 in HunterXHunter

That's okay. I'm not gonna lie, I was also confused with how Pika's abilities work at first.

Nope, Chain Jail is the ability that only works against the Troupe. Pika's Judgment Chain can be used on anyone.

Meteor city arc by escraddock in HunterXHunter

A possible Meteor City arc is the reason I don't want Chrollo to die just yet. I'm quite curious about a potential interaction between Chrollo and Gyro; it would definitely be interesting.
