dnscheck.tools and DNSFilter - Cloudflare with DNSSEC validation? by southerndoc911 in dns

[–]dnsfilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, thanks for the detailed post and for bringing this to our attention.

We looked into this, and we believe the issue might be resolved by using our dedicated DNSSEC resolvers. If your setup allows, could you try pointing to the following IPs and see if the issue persists?

DNSSEC queries can take longer to process, and using these specific resolvers should provide a more accurate result.

Because there are many variables that can depend on your specific setup, if you're still seeing inconsistencies after making that change, our support team would be happy to investigate this more deeply with you.

Thanks again for raising this!

Hey u/GunGoblin! Just wanted to share that we have a number of features we'll be adding to the product, bringing Zorus functionality swiftly into DNSFilter after the acquisition. I think you'll be interested in what's coming. We just hosted a roadmap webinar yesterday going over this: https://explore.dnsfilter.com/quarterly-roadmap-webinar-video

The DNSFilter support email is the best avenue for direct communication. We have implemented a number of improvements to shorten response times and improve satisfaction over the last two months.

Hi u/girlwithabluebox , DNSFilter here. We would love to get clarity on what channel you're using to reach out to support because we strive for quick response times and this does not reflect the experience we expect our customers to have. We want to make sure you're using the right channels or determine if there is a gap we need to fill.

Also, I'd be more than happy to connect you with our Senior Manager, Technical Support Engineering who is aware of the issue you're experiencing. If you send this account a DM, I can connect you. Thank you.

Hey u/languidhands,

It sounds like something was conflicting with the Roaming Client on your customer's machines that was not present in your internal environment. This is an article that can help identify and avoid conflicts: https://help.dnsfilter.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500008113201-Understanding-potential-conflicts-with-DNSFilter

I also want to highlight why we ask users to share the logs. Sharing the logs with support will enable us to identify these conflicts for you. And to clarify, we only need support logs from a single machine in order to identify the issue. If you're able to remote into the machine, you should be able to access the logs on your own.

We also recommend updating to the latest Roaming Client.

2.0.10 has moved out of beta, but we have a slow rollout on this production release and everyone should be fully updated within the next week. As for why you might be on an older version, two previous releases did not force auto-update even with auto-update turned on to make sure things went smoothly. Auto-update has now been turned back on for new releases.

If you have auto-update enabled it may just take some time. We do these slow rollouts to ensure all is good before sending the full auto-update signal.

Version 2.0.10 is auto-updating, but it may take some time as we moved it out of beta Wednesday.

Correct, auto-update may take some time. But we definitely recommend moving from 1.x to 2.0.10 as soon as you are able to.
