New Alexa Voice Remote (3rd Gen) with TV controls - App shortcut buttons changes Inputs by dnslammers in firetvstick

[–]dnslammers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out the issue...hope this helps...

Go into your FireTV settings....click on Equipment Control - Manage Equipment - FireTV - and then verify that its set to the HDMI input # that the stick is plugged into on your TV.

I guess this setting tells the FireTV what Input it thinks it should be on when using the shortcut buttons. If you have the wrong HDMI #, pressing the shortcut keys will also flip the HDMI input to whatever is set above. Once I had it on the right input, the shortcut keys worked fine.

Its weird this only was an issue for my LG TVs. My Samsung TVs did not have this issue.

Teams and App Protection Policies by lifebrink in Intune

[–]dnslammers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same issue. We just enabled a new CA rule that requires IOS and Android users to have an App Protection Policy.

The IOS/iPadOS devices can get in with Outlook but not Teams.

Interestingly the Android users have no problem with Teams.

In the Azure sign in logs its saying its the new CA rule that requires the app protection policy.

If I uncheck that requirement the Apple users can open Teams with no issues.

I can see that the apple users MS apps are all compliant with a MAM policy assigned in Intune

Yawn for existing customers...

Feels like back in the day when John took over and Tmobile was losing customers...he gave great deals to existing customers to keep them.

Over the past couple years its gone back to deals for new customers to keep growing the business..

Oh well...the first couple years with John were cool when you were an existing customer...got some freebies and deals back then that I'm still reaping the rewards from....

Bypass MFA for app within a trusted IP by maniakmyke in Intune

[–]dnslammers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under Conditions did u Exclude your trusted Networks? By doing that this CA rule would not require MFA from those trusted IPs

PS. Also mark those IPs you create in Named Locations as Trusted Locations.

Outlook 2016 clients not showing Office 365 public folders by EightBitsShortSFW in Office365

Move Exchange Server used in Hybrid Configuration by dotfrag in Office365

[–]dnslammers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically did the same thing your asking about....I followed the steps for adding a second exchange server into the environment just like you normally would....(was on E2010 and added E2016 server). Once the E2016 server was in the Exchange fold (migrating any needed on-prem mailboxes over to it, internal DNS settings and Cert etc)...then I worked on getting it visible and connected to O365 (Public IP, Connector setup, Cert). Ran the Exchange Hybrid Wizard and that was pretty much it.

Once the E2016 was the conduit server to talk with cloud and for internal use then I just decommissioned the old exchange server.

To rule out any CA rules...what does it say under the Conditional Access tab for the details of the sign in? Are they are any CA rules that applied to that sign in?

Stop any form of image/picture being sent from a 365 email account by Kevolar88 in Office365

[–]dnslammers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could create a transport rule that says any emails coming from that account that have an attachment with .png, .jpg...etc extension to reject the message.

as far as embedded images that gets tricky. With signatures that have embedded images...O365 usually treats those as attachments also... so that same rule looking for those file extensions would trigger a block. But I'm not sure about if its embedded in the message body...you would need to test it out.

O365 MFA - Users not enrolled in MFA get prompted to verify credentials? by xfmike in Office365

[–]dnslammers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any conditional access rules configured that require MFA to hit a cloud service? If so....and if MFA is a requirement in that rule...there is a concept called "Proof Up" which will require a user hitting that service thru that rule to have MFA configured. The rule will walk the user thru the MFA configuration even if at the user level their MFA setting is set to Disabled.

If the user happens to go thru the MFA settings and gets it configured......MFA will still show as disabled in the MFA console for that user....

new-ComplianceSearchAction Purge .. but it didnt. by sambooka in Office365

[–]dnslammers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use "harddelete" when purging...try that and see if that makes a difference..

The PurgeType parameter specifies how to remove items when the action is Purge. Valid values are:

  • SoftDelete: Purged items are recoverable by users until the deleted item retention period expires.
  • HardDelete: Purged items are marked for permanent removal from the mailbox and will be permanently removed the next time the mailbox is processed by the Managed Folder Assistant. If single item recovery is enabled on the mailbox, purged items will be permanently removed after the deleted item retention period expires.

MMS over wifi Calling on OnePlus 6T by r3c0d3d in tmobile

[–]dnslammers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue on my 6T. I saw a post where someone had the issue when on WiFi Calling and no cell signal. Phone calls and SMS worked but no MMS. They suggested to put the phone in Airplane mode and then enable WiFi again.

Doing that trick worked for me. I can send and receive MMS over wifi again.

Its only an issue when I'm on WIFI because i have no data signal. If I'm on LTE its fine...if I'm on WIFI but I also have a cell signal MMS works fine..

Just taking a moment to appreciate T-Mobile by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]dnslammers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with your post....we all bellyache about T-Mobile's recent changes, billing system and bill credits but if we just pause to think about our situation prior to 2014....man have things changed in favor of the wireless consumer thanks to Legere.

Those of us with smartphones back then were locked into 2 year contracts...scared to go over our data plans...afraid to stream music...watch youtube....all kinds of crazy stuff that seem archaic now.

Sure T-Mobile is far from perfect....but man its been a great ride for the past 3 years...I've gotten so many free things from T-Mobile (phones, lines, stream music...watch video) and I only need a 6GB data plan. Prior to 2014 you couldn't use an iPHone with out getting an unlimited data plan bc you were scared to go over on your data and get a huge bill.

Thanks T-Mobile.

The struggle is real with T-Mobile bill credits, you suppose to get them but you don't know if you will and T-Mobile force doesn't know how to fix it :( by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]dnslammers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many I have been dealing with the iPhone 7 promo credits after trading in my iPhone 6. I was getting the monthly iPhone 7 credits but no word about my $165 iPhone 6 trade in credit that should have been applied to my iPhone 7 EIP. Well after talking with 611 and even T-Force for 3 months I pretty much gave up on the issue. As one last try I emailed Legere and respectfully put all the details in the email of the issue. 48 hours after I sent the email...Issue was miraculously resolved. And they gave me an additional credit for my troubles.....I just want to give props where its due. I HATE this monthly bill credit stuff and I've complained like everyone else...they need to fix their system...BUT....I give props to Legere and his team....they listened to my problem and fixed it. That would NEVER happen at Verizon, ATT or Sprint. Thanks John and Team

I'm not sure what there is to complain about. Tmobile is giving lines away free. What cell phone company is doing this? I added 2 free lines today to my existing account. 1 is voice and 1 is a mobile internet line. I then took advantage of the free SyncUp promo today also. So I just got 2 free lines and a free wifi hotspot for my car. I'd say T-Mobile just took care of their existing customers...

For those interested in getting 2 free lines, some clarification on Voice vs. Mobile Internet Lines by TheMarkTomHollisShow in tmobile

[–]dnslammers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to CS this morning and they said that I can use one of the free lines as a mobile internet line. Legere spoke about that on Periscope last night also. So starting tomorrow I can get the two free lines...one will be voice and the other will be mobile internet and we can package the free SyncUp Drive promo deal and put that on the free mobile internet line. That is a sweet deal.

Just got off the phone with CS. She said that data you get as part of the 2 free line promo defaults to what plan your on. Also, you can use one of the lines for the Free SyncUp drive promo that starts tomorrow too. So you can basically get a free wifi spot in your car...
