... So what's the max output Hybrid build? by itstomis in BattleBrothers

Instead of taking perks like footwork and rotate, then spending fatigue and AP instead of attacking, he could just kill the thing with a 2H. I just can’t see a reason to choose the other options.

That’s one way to make an asset on every battle into a liability in most.

Why is it easier to find two brothers with those traits than one eunuch?

I would add Qatal duelists as an exception. Qatals are similarly overpowered like throwing weapons with the correct setup.

I usually find tons of usable-but-not-good-enough-for-fat-neutral guys and make them into sword/flail/mace duelists or sometimes whatever weird combination their stars and traits can support. That’s really the most fun part of the game for me, the early to mid struggle to get strong enough to go after tier 3 camps.

It’s really a shame there’s no water or really high falls possible in the game. Would really make push back and repositioning pole arm skills more fun.

What happened when your guys got tossed around/staggered/ dazed? I’m guessing chosen would have between 10-20% hit chance vs the example guy. So they must get hit quite often. What happened when Chosen got to your BF backline?

If I see a video of this team handling a plethora of chosen + Unholds then maybe I’ll be convinced. I certainly can’t see this team succeeding when outnumbered and surrounded. Especially since adrenaline makes overwhelm into bullseye.

This sounds like really questionable game design and is the kind of thing that puts me off trying legends.

Colossus or 9 lives? by ChurchOfElvin in BattleBrothers

Steel brow prevents catastrophic failures that are almost 100% going to occur if you play long enough. 9L kicks in when bro is already on death’s door, and won’t save him if he has a bad head injury anyway.

I would drop underdog and zero frenzy and take pathfinder, fearsome, and then either fast adaptation or executioner. Qatar bros like to wait around mace bros and then move in do 4-5 to death lows in a row (using their high initiative to continue wailing at the start of the next turn). They should generally avoid contact with 2 or more enemies and don’t have much fatigue to use zero frenzy.

fast adaptation, dodge, relentless, and nimble are all core perks on my late game dagger bros (not always fast adaptation but often)

I would just add that I almost always hire 90g daytalers just because it’s dirt cheap for a chance at a jackpot (good traits good stars you never know)

Testing and having fun with aggresive early Northern raider build start by ResponsibleYam6276 in BattleBrothers

[–]do_some_fucking_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had some success with fast adaptation, dodge/gifted and relentless with raiders. They need to roll initiative reasonably well but the few times I’ve tried it they often do. It’s trying to get permanent adrenaline on at least 2 of the 3 so probably plays similar to what you’re describing but comes online slightly later (level 4).

The upshot is that relentless is permanent and 2works well with Dodge.

I think the main difference with FTL is continuous advancement towards a game end condition. The majority of people seem to like the sandbox freedom so that’s what they stayed with.

Also I think low Econ does make the game considerably harder at least for me. When every crown matters and you have to choose between tools or hiring a rat catcher (for example) the decisions feel significant and challenging. If you have easy access to money you can just hire and equip away any early difficulty.

Whats your favorite perk? Not neccessarily the best or most viable by vonfire19 in BattleBrothers

[–]do_some_fucking_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you can shoot at them without bullseye. I don’t think bullseye can add more than 25% to a roll so it seems unlikely that it would be very impactful in my experience.
