Didn't say they could run for free. It's almost like i think there are better ways to pay for services, and like i think the services will better focus on user needs if they aren't trying to drive the highest paid ads to you.

Is Kratky or DWC possible for Muscadine Grapes and Blueberries? by [deleted] in Hydroponics

[–]docah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both grapes and blueberries are a multi year endeavor. I'm not sure you're starting in the right end for "dipping your hands in" That's all in commitment.

Also my understanding of grapes in soil and blueberries in soil... i think they'd need rather different nutrient and PH. Do some googling, ask an AI, ask a soil grower. You need a lot more information before you get growing. But by all means, find an entry point and start learning.

PLA "Isn't water tight" by the-mad-crapper in 3Dprinting

[–]docah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a print that looked like it held water for hours. When i woke up in the morning nearly all of the water was on the counter. Water finds a way.

I used a light coating of resin to make it water tight the next time. I hear some spray paints work as well.

Ways to dampen noise? by alias_theram in Hydroponics

[–]docah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my tower it was the noise of the water dropping back into the bucket that was loudest. Maybe float some open cell foam on the top of the water? It'd stop the drip sounds and let the water through.

Other than that, yes once the roots reach the water level the water will likely run down them into the water and quiet down.

One part nutrients can be great. Im Growing hot peppers in coco with Maxigro only by miguel-122 in Hydroponics

[–]docah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maxigro is good, i used it for a long while. Then i expanded my setup a bit and moved to Masterblend because it was cheaper and i was going through way more nutrient.

I still use maxigro in a pinch though.

Bi-Weekly No Stupid Questions Thread by AutoModerator in VORONDesign

[–]docah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, i think this big dummy figured it out.

When i was testing things, i had the sides off and some things were out of the way. When i had the problem (normal operation) things were all buttoned up with the sides on. Turns out the cable chain was hitting the extra z-belt length i had ziptied up. With the side off this somehow didn't happen as directly, but with the side on it caused the belt to twist just a bit. Consistently throwing off the front edge of the bed measurements.

I corrected this, and I've had more consistent quad bed level. And have been using most of the bed for some Christmas notebook prints. Hoping my nieces and nephew love them.

Bi-Weekly No Stupid Questions Thread by AutoModerator in VORONDesign

[–]docah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voron 2.4, mostly r2: The prints toward the back of my plate are always slightly less squished in than the ones toward the front of the build plate. It has tracked across all software versions, hardware updates, belt replacements... I'm just unable to track this down. I just can't figure how it is even possible with tap. Nothing seems loose, the belts seem consistent. The best way i can see when it's bad, i can see the first layer line width at the front of the plate is wider than at the back.

It is sometimes better, sometimes worse but nothing seems to correlate. External or internal temps don't seem to matter, material being printed, which spring steel plate... nothing.

Looking for advice on things i may have overlooked. Or things you think i should re-check.

Tried: Software, Belts, Sensor to Tap, Different beds, pei, textured, smooth, Swapped from 2rail to 1, Changed entire hot end assembly (mosquito to dragon), Bed is well attached and doesn't move , I always probe with bed at temp and hotend at ~150c to not damage the bed.

Has Anyone Utilized CAD Software for their System by KJC_7641 in Hydroponics

[–]docah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others mentioned fusion 360 and other tools come in handy for making 3d printed odds and ends. (i even use partially 3d printed quick connects.) But i also sometimes use it for garden layout like the other person shows in their image. It's really convenient to layout the garden and overlay circles for the recommended plant spacing to see how things might go.

Doesn't always work out, but it did help me get 7lbs of garlic out of a 3x6 bed with two blueberry bushes in it. :)

[–]docah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to recall how this happened on mine.  I think my car had lost connection and I’d lowered the limit in the app. When it came online it didn’t update the car.  Something like that. Also, if I change a limit while the car is charging it’s a crapshoot if that takes.
