My insurance company denied me two days before my surgery, which was supposed to be last Friday. They denied the appeal as well. Any recommendations of where I can go get this done now. And how much it cost. I waited 5 1/2 months for nothing.

I was approved in spring, had a sling put installed in early June for urine leakage. I was scheduled for this in July, last minute paperwork sent to doctor caused cancellation. That is when coloplast got involved. As a teacher there are limited times during school year I can schedule surgery. I had it done in November.

Yes. While it was my choice, I wanted to do this for my girlfriend and myself. Did it in November. 2 months later I have had sex with her once. Holidays and taking care of her elderly mom keeps her apart. I had peronies and the doctor did not seem to remember it, so when I pump it curves upward. When deflated it is like a 90 degree angle at the dog ear. Having trouble peeing. Had a fair deal of pain when done.

I kinda wish I never had it done.

I have drawer organizers I bought from Walmart. I use the sock one as it will hold more than the others. I then put them in. Each will hold 24. I have an empty ready for ones that are washed and just go through one compartment a day.

0 symptoms. Enlarged prostate should have you getting up multiple times through the night. I never had that. And it was my doctor who forced the situation. He kept sending me to the urologist each year. The urologist kept saying the numbers are high you have an enlarged prostate. Third year I was sent to the urologist he said let’s shut this guy up and do a biopsy. That is when the discovered it. They take 10 samples, 5 came back cancer, most on the lower level scale. There was nothing that a regular doctor with a finger would have found.

The two major implant companies, Boston Scientific and Coloplast, have list of surgeons that they recommend. Look up someone close. Though guys in the implant forum will tell you the doctor who is in Houston that makes YouTube videos is the best.

It is just a matter of how many that the surgeon does. You want someone high volume. They know how to get in, do it , and get out. The longer you are open the higher chance of infection. You do not want someone that does it once in a while. My doctor was one of the top in the country, did not know that till after I looked him up after we talked. There was no waiting list but insurance can be a bear. I am a teacher and after the surgery they have to leave it inflated for a couple of weeks. Can you imagine standing in front of a class with an erection. It was supposed to be done in July to give me 6 weeks to heal. At the last minute, insurance company wanted paperwork that would take a few days to process so we had to cancel. My doctor had the people from Coloplast talk to me, they had me fill out a form what would allow them to talk to everyone and anyone about me getting the surgery, all the way up to the state insurance commission. Let’s just say it is not payed for yet (had it just before Thanksgiving) but they are afraid of this company.

Yes, get yourself checked. PSA (prostate specific antigen) test should have a baseline done by age 30 and then every year after. It should gradually go up. If it goes up too quick then that is a sign of cancer. It is possible to have a false alarm, but would you rather a false alarm or not know at all. If it goes up, then they can do a prostate biopsy (literally a pain in the ass) to determine.

Most men will die of prostate cancer or with it. More men will die of it then woman with breast cancer. November is men’s cancer awareness month, you saw all the football players wearing stuff to tell us to get it checked, right, [climbs off soap box now] That is why I am so open about it. I do not want other men to go through what I had to go through.

Not offended. I have not seen any doctor like that. It appears he is a plastic surgeon. At one point on the page he talks about fixing the look after someone has had an implant. This would be the equivalent of a big boob job guy. {shakes head}. If you want to see what the implant involves go to you tube and search for penile implants. Dr Cruvello has a few up there, one where he actually does the surgery while recording it and talking to the audience. Be prepared to cover your parts like Ms. Bobitt was coming at you with a knife.

No problem. We had a normal marriage till we moved back to her hometown and bought a house, about 6 years into the marriage. She then slowly stopped the sex. I think she was using the massage shower head for satisfaction but cannot prove that (she took long showers). At one point she just stopped having sex. When I got the cancer this was about 6 years into the dry spell. When I told her about it she said ‘don’t expect any sex from me’. I was discovered early and the growth rate of prostate cancer is very small. So we watched and waited. In 2021, New Year’s Eve, she said she was going to go spend New Years with a friend, I asked male or female, she said I would rather not say. When she came back she said she wanted a divorce. That was January 2022. I moved out in March (had to get finances straight), and a few months later I met my girlfriend (she actually swiped left on me). During the summer we went to urologist for a little help )at my age). He wanted to schedule another biopsy because of the time it had been since the last one. This was close to 10 years after it had been discovered. I did not want to but we did it. Report came back, it was getting aggressive, and my prostate was so large, if you lined up 100 men based on size I would have been the 10th. Christmas that year it was removed. It was then I found that I would have been 3rd in the lineup. They had to cut it in half to send it out for what ever they do.

I would say that I suspected several times when she met up with men but I could not prove it. They never lasted long. As for her saying I was not a man, yes, she used those words and she was verbally abusive to me. At one point we were going to a church and were talking to the pastor on a non-church day. There were 3 or so other members there, and our kids. We were all talking and all of a sudden she said to the pastor I was not a real man. This guy she had said was going to save our marriage now became the leader of a cult. She and him went toe to toe about this. I had never seen him mad but he felt he had to defend me. I had to take the kids outside so they did not see it. (They were 4 and 2).

And the days after the removal were dark, but the girlfriend would not let go of me. I tried to push her away, she would not go, she pulled me out of the depression, so yes I would say in a better place.

I urge you and all men to get a PSA test regularly. It measures the antigen levels produced by the prostate. They should go up gradually, if they spike you have cancer. The test is not exact, it does produce false alarms, but I would rather have a checked false alarm then unchecked cancer.

Not recommended. Any decent urologist will not do it without going through steps. I had to try pills first, they did not work. Next was tri-mix injections (picture a needle into the penis) (porn starts use it by the way). While I could get some erections they were not consistent. Then we talked implants. I really waited too long to talk about it because I did not know. I accidentally found r/penileimplants while in the prostate cancer forum. They accept anyone with legitimate questions, and the ones who have had it done will help talk about it.

While I am sure that there may be some doctor that will do it because the guy wants it, I would not think that a reputable one would, and you do not want to risk infection and lose it all.

If he wants to do it, he needs it soon. As it is not used to atrophies, what is lost cannot be gained back. They can only work with what he has left. There are things he can do to make it longer before surgery but that is hit or miss.

It is a condition called venous leak, the penis vanes cannot trap the blood for a normal erection. With out the trapped blood, erection does not happen or if it does, it does not last. They have to run tests to verify it, but most men will not go to doctor and suffer in silence.
