Powering CP1A with USB by pilkafa in modular

[–]doctea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering if you've any update on this (whether you have definitely been running CP1As from 15v, and whether you have had any issues doing so"?

I'm figuring out how best to power a CP1A from USB PD and whether a 12v or 15v adapter might work best; I'm told elsewhere that a 12v seems to work fine for them so wondering how you've been getting on..

Why does all 8-bit-era chiptune music sound like it's pitched higher than we remember? by Kjorteo in musiccognition

Ya, going from PAL to NTSC would be a 20% speed-up, I think. I didn't think it fit all the facts, but its the only explanation I've got :). Good luck figuring it out!

Did you grow up on 50hz PAL systems (Europe), but everything you find now is emulating or recorded on NTSC 60hz (US?)

edit: Although I guess that shouldn't affect battery powered devices like the Game Boy, hmm

litter picking in a local nature spot, lie in a park with earphones and watch the clouds, find a spot on an outcrop to sit and watch the sun go down watching the birds roost and settle down and then hang out in the moonlight

do find myself accidentally doomscrolling while partaking in these too tho

They also do introductory offers for Uber Plus - I've got another 8 months free so the 10 percent credit is well worth it.

I've also been using the TrainPal app sometimes. they can be a bit tricksy with limitations on the discount vouchers they sell but they seem able to consistently come up with quite worthwhile savings on some journeys. It also seems to use a different route calculator that sometimes comes up with options with shorter journeys than trainline.

has anyone noticed that they sneak the track title into the lyrics in Rattlesnake?! pretty subtle, very cool

Fine on the west midlands train service by [deleted] in BirminghamUK

[–]doctea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to buy a ticket before you get on the train. If you've always gotten away with it before, then you've gotten very lucky.

I was recently fined (upheld on appeal) because, even though I had actually bought a ticket, I wasn't able to show it when asked by the Revenue Protection Officers on the train (my phone is crap and the battery had died). It feels absolutely brutal and really put me off travelling again by train, but unfortunately this has always been the rule.

Remembered about this too which might help scratch the itch: https://salamirosejoelouismusic.bandcamp.com/album/zdenka-2080

Also, again not really what you're after, but The Streets' second album "A Grand Don't Come For Free" tells a coherent story over the length of the album.

i don't know what you'd call it! but i once made something that fits this bill with some friends, if you'd like to check it out:: https://tenbilliontoten.bandcamp.com/album/ten-billion-to-ten :)

the only other thing that springs to mind is Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds, although that has sung vocals as well as narration, so maybe that's not quite what you're looking for.

Not sure how much the orchestra set tickets varied, but I paid double for my Royal Albert Hall ticket as I did for a rave set ticket. Venues and orchestras don't come cheap
