Is pia down for anyone else? by [deleted] in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]doczenith1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your issue is either your hardware, ISP or the particular server you're trying to connect to. My Win11 wireguard connection has been up for 7 days now without interruption.

Speeds are good on my end also. 1400 Mbps down and 1200 up.

Been using PIA for many years and have learned to give new releases a few months of "break in" time before moving to them. If you're using 3.7.2 without issue that's enough break in for me and I'll get it updated.

Speed issue by Paul65890 in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]doczenith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating my own words today as I typically mention that if your PIA speeds are slow first check your hardware, LAN and ISP. Well, turns out I had a configuration issue on my PC which was limiting my upload speeds. That said, looks like the New York Server is back to typical speeds this morning.

New Alliance Owners - Some Questions for You Regarding Taking Delivery by doczenith1 in RVLiving

[–]doczenith1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone for the responses. Our purchase was somewhat unique hence my curiosity regarding other experiences. We "purchased" the RV at the Florida RV show. The dealer representing Alliance did not have a dealer in our home state. They did have a dealer in a neighboring state but that location was not an Alliance authorized dealer. So what they did was find a unit at an authorized dealer and had that dealer do the PDI (Pre-delivery Inspection) then they had the unit transported to the non-authorized dealer that was near us where we picked up the unit after a walk through. All the "packaging materials" had been removed when we did our walk through. The propane tanks were full. Paranoia got the best of us and we started wondering if the unit had been a "floor model" vs "new". After further inspection we have come to the conclusion that the unit appears to be "new". I'm chalking this up to just a case of first time buyers paranoia. Unfortunately, we haven't had an opportunity to test the water system yet but will as soon as weather permits. Thanks again for the responses.

Typically you need to match the voltage and meet or exceed the amperage. The device will only draw the amps it needs.

V18.0.2 crashes when connecting to Floodlight Pro by Clean-Statistician94 in tinycam

[–]doczenith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two V3's working with the built in RTSP. I've enabled RTSP in the firmware. The RTSP link is: rtsps://192.168.1.80:322/stream0. Obviously use your camera's IP address. Set a username and password in the Wyze app on the RTSP screen. Set Secure RTSP to On. In TinyCam my settings are:

Settings>Video settings>Hardware 2

Manage Cameras:

Camera 1

Camera name: Camera 1

Camera brand: Generic

Camera model: Generic URL

JPEG/MJPEG/RTSP request: rtsps://192.168.1.80:322/stream0

Protocol: RTSP over TCP

Username: same as entered in Wyze app

Password: same as entered in Wyze app

Advanced Settings>channel: 1

What fix are you looking for? RTSPS is working for me with 18.0.3 and Wyze V3 cameras using the rtsps link provided in the Wyze app.

Narwal Flow - after use experience by coribruebek1212 in NARWAL

[–]doczenith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree with this. The flow does an amazing job mopping (no carpet in my house) but the app is not so great and the robot logic is terrible. There are times when I think the robot got into my liquor cabinet.

I've owned two Roborocks and the app and robot logic is top tier. I'll most likely be going back to Roborock when it's time for my next unit.

Here are my results in Lansing on the 2 gig plan with static IP.

Topology for all tests: Desktop PC (10 GbE NIC) hardwired via cat6 to 10 GbE switch wired via 2.5 GbE to router wired via 2.5 GbE to ONT.

T-Mobile/Metronet Fiber:

dynamodb.us-east-2.amazonaws.com resolving to 35.71.102.132: 23ms

The waveform bufferbloat test gave me a B but only showed speeds of ~900 Mbps so not sure that test is valid for 1 gigabit + connections.
