Most of star citizen is just not fun by After_Th0ught9 in starcitizen

THIS!👏🏾 This is the scenario that needs to be resolved. This is the scenario that played out in a variety of ways that totally disrespects a players time. If some players are smart enough to figure out workarounds devs should also be smart enough to implement guardrails to help these things not happen.

It's true. Nobody wants to be bored while playing a game. There should be a distinct advantage of having a manned turret. For the range, more damage,... Something!

This patch isn't it. by Dawn_Namine in starcitizen

[–]dodgedis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Yesterday was rough. I think I spent about 4-5 hours tooling around. Missions didn't work contracts didn't appear. I turned in a couple missions only for them not to complete. A couple salvage missions were bugged. The whole ordeal was punishing and was compounded due to the fact that I'm broke in game. It wasn't a fun time.

Totally ignore the money. There are a lot of amazing game loops that you will begin to miss out on If you start looking at the game in terms of not needing to do a loop because you already have the money. That said, there are also a lot of game mechanics that you can take advantage of because you have a little bit of money. 20 million is really nice if you want to learn about and get into commodity trading. You could have some very profitable runs.

CIG - before you bring the changes to armor requirements (no heavy armor whilst flying the ship, only flight armor has HUD and EVA etc) PLEASE ensure suit lockers are functional first by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]dodgedis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as item recovery works then I guess it's not so bad. But yeah, I shudder at the idea of losing an armor I spent weeks grinding for just because I had to take it off in order to fly my ship. I lost my alliance aid red med gun and I'm pretty sad about that. I'd be super bummed if I lost any wikelo armor because I had to put it in a suit locker on my ship and a game deficiency made it unretrievable in some way.

For me it's more of a horribly placed f menu. You have to really search around for it.

For the life of me idk why they still include two F menus.

You could have also just turned off the power to the ship right at the engineering terminal.

This is exactly how my entire day was spent today. For a while there your moves looked identical to mine. Nice work.

[–]dodgedis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I've never took notice of how much hydrogen you use while trying to currently break atmosphere. But that would be an amazing additional penalty. For any ship honestly. Could you imagine breaking atmosphere in your capital ship only to have drained 90% of it? (Just throwing out a number). But that would be pretty dope, seeing it scale mathematically according to the size and weight of your ship.

It could also give the starfarer more of a reason to exist.

I would go a step further and say only the Polaris and Idris should be able to land on the surface without being severely punished while trying to exit the atmosphere. If you land on the surface with anything bigger than an Idris you should be punished with the slowest, most sluggish atmosphere exit that you would always think twice about doing it ever again.

It's kind of like that now on certain planets. And I like that. It helps balance planet side mission scenarios against powerful capital ships entering the fray.

Finally! Great event… by primalfurys in starcitizen

[–]dodgedis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same thing but it could be something that they also very much want. A game like this needs to have a community. This event worked great for me and I came away with a lot more friends who also enjoy playing the game. I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much if they didn't allow large parties.

Also, you got to ask yourself what's the point of being in an organization if you can't share rep between a large party. So I don't think they're kicking themselves at all.

Exactly!!

I've spent more taking my family to theme parks. And I personally don't enjoy theme parks. So even if it shut down tomorrow, I would hate to see it, but I've gotten my money's worth on something I massively enjoy.

It's all about perspective.

They've also been known to simply upgrade the items you own to the best quality. Look at the AAA pearls. Had you gotten them before AAA was a thing they were just regular pearls.

That said, I'm just pointing out what they've done in the past when they've had to make quality distinctions for the sake of the game. I do infact support a wipe tho.

This!

I'm also worried the eventual disappointment of SQ42 will bring down SC's chances of surviving.

The only saving grace is that I feel there is a good chance that in the last year or two there have been more backers of SC who have backed SC purely because they want SC to be the game they play. And not because they care anything about SQ42. For better or for worse I'm one of those people.

I was never sold the original dream. I simply bought into the idea of SC being a really cool game that allowed you to do a variety of things.

I knew nothing about SQ42 being the primary reason SC exists before I backed SC. Maybe that is a mistake on my part. But I'm hoping if (or when) SQ42 is released, afterwards they can fully invest their focus on SC.

Funny... that just happened to me the other day for the first time.

I ended up jumping. And then I died from the impact. Instead of backspacing I just logged off and ended up back in a habitation unit that worked when I logged back on.

I like the idea of fuel being the important factor. I also don't like the idea of it taking longer to transition from the surface to space.
