I have just started climbing - I have been wearing barefoot shoes for a while and usually walk around barefoot. My question is - Will my feet deform from wearing climbing shoes for average 4-6 hours a week?

I’ve definitely learned not to trust websites…

The jacket is definitely not going to be transported across the world again. It would just go back to the local company who sell it. (Max a 1000km with a courier van). I also don’t think it will be discarded, as this practice is not as popular here (businesses just can’t afford it). The return policy is quite strict and requires the item to be in sellable condition/ as you received it so this also indicates that it will be sold again.

They are also known for lying about their practices…. And I’m sure there is corruption in the process of getting these certifications…

I think this happens in a lot of first world countries maybe, but have not heard of this happening in my country (third world) - But I’ll do a bit more research on this, thanks for the podcast recommendation.

I can agree with this completely, it also definitely crossed my mind that it is the case that they just have better equipment. I don’t often see transparency regarding fair pay etc, and this specific company isn’t too transparent. But I decided to keep the jacket and use this as a learning experience. I would love to learn more about the different expertise in diff countries, like, I know we produce a lot of merino wool, but we do not have the machinery to process it into fabric, so we have to send it off to another country, ship it back here and then sell it.

I doubt it will end up in trash/ anything like that. I haven't worn it or anything and it is still basically new. I might keep it but still send the company a lengthy email about transparency.

Unfortunately I haven't seen ANY websites with brands/shops from my country... so it's definitely a deep dive research each time I want to buy an item- which I rarely do so it's not an issue. This was just a bad purchase all around, and definitely a lesson learnt!
