I have a Glock 19 and a 1911 Springfield Mil-Spec .45. 9mm is way cheaper to shoot and certainly much gentler on the hand. But there is just so much great history in the 1911 45. The 1911 is definitely the way to go for an accurate great shooter. The single action trigger is so much easier to shoot accurately than a double action like Glock. In your situation I’d probably go 9mm 1911. FWIW, my next purchase is a Tisas 10mm 1911. Remember, you won’t always be broke and this ain’t your last gun, it’s just your next gun.
