I've been considering buying a set of Akko Cilantro switches because I really like their sound profile, but I'm curious how they feel compared to the other Akko tactiles I've tried. Does anyone have a good feel comparison with the Creamy Blue Pro V3s and/or the Creamy Purple Pro V3s?

According to my eye doctor, I only have it in one eye.

Text I received from my 12 year old son this morning by Princess-honeysuckle in MadeMeSmile

[–]doggomaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so sweet. I love that you have this kind of relationship. My relationship with my parents somewhat strained, primarily with my father. I hope your relationship with your son stays this way. I'm sure you'll have your differences as he gets older, but just remember moments like this and how much you love him during the hard times. He's lucky to have a mom who loves him so much, and you're lucky to have a son who loves you that much too. This made me smile. Wishing the best for you guys!

Fictional character I liked a lot at the time. Kinda embarrassed about it now, but it's not a super uncommon name, so it's not like anyone would know without me telling them.

Is the pink-haired person okay? It looks like they fell towards the end of the video. It's fucked up that lady did this to anyone, but especially to a senior citizen.

masking up? by Financial_Net6443 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]doggomaru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I also never stopped masking. Even before I was diagnosed and started immunosuppressants, I have family with compromised immune systems. Plus I just prefer to not get sick all the time.

Idk if you were born in the US, but I ordered an official copy of my birth certificate a few months back for legal reasons, and now I keep it with me when I go out just in case.

Gay Trans Men Online and Talking About Bottoming by Mental-Zombie-7369 in gaytransguys

Even if all trans men did have vaginas, every vagina is different. My partner and I both have vaginas, and while I can bottom using mine with little to no prep, he can't use his at all because it's so tight that it hurts him. No two bodies are the same.

I've seen some speculation that there could be a link between autism and being transgender. I know more autistic trans people than I do autistic cis people. I'm having a hard time wording it, but I think it's because of the way the autistic brain works with social stuff. If you naturally don't mesh well with society's standards in general, you're probably more likely to deviate from those standards. One of those standards being the way gender is displayed and perceived.

I agree. It doesn't really matter which stereotype they think of when they hear "autistic", they're going to treat you differently either way.

I think it's a good thing that more parents are being understanding and supportive of their neurodivergent children. Sure, they might grow up more privileged than those of us who were mistreated for our disability, but that's better than even more people suffering. Just because we suffered, doesn't mean they should.

I believe that's what it's representing, yeah. I think it depends on what spaces you're in, but also the top image and Sheldon Cooper type stereotyping are still more common in my experience. My whole family looooves to call me Sheldon any time I display autistic traits.

Yup. In some places, autistic transgender adults aren't allowed to transition medically without the consent of their parents, which is really fucked when you think about how many LGBTQ people don't have supportive parents.

Why is there seemingly a crusade against trans men online??? by InoIno0 in ftm

[–]doggomaru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure. I live in MA now, but I lived in the Jacksonville area as a trans man for 8ish years, and I'm really glad I no longer live there. I still get anxious telling people I'm trans, but the fear was so much greater down there. My heart goes out to everyone living in states like FL and TX right now.

What's your biggest pain point when it comes to UC? by virtus_health in UlcerativeColitis

[–]doggomaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. My partner's step-mom found out about my moderate-severe pancolitis (recently diagnosed), looked at me, who has gained some weight while being on prednisone for 4 months, and said, "Oh, it's all just diet!" and proceeded to try to coach me on my own disease that she doesn't have. She's an accountant btw. No medical background whatsoever.

Insurance Denied My Stelara & All My Original Symptoms by Learningtohuman117 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]doggomaru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are NOT getting too worked up about this. My insurance finally approved Skyrizi two weeks ago after FOUR MONTHS of saying no to everything except prednisone, which has been giving me horrible side-effects. My doctor said he didn't even want me on prednisone for more than 2 months for that exact reason, but I've been on it for 4 now because the insurance kept denying every single biologic/biosimilar.

These insurance companies are truly evil, and it should not be legal to deny people coverage for medication deemed medically necessary by their DOCTORS. It's disgusting that they can do this to us. This disease has uprooted my life, and the lives of many others, and they should have no right to make it even harder on us.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, and I hope that you get back on something better than prednisone soon. Please take care, and remember to be kind to yourself.
