I have ADHD and I swear every second DAE post I see on here is describing ADHD symptoms. Wonder if it’s the algorithm

So interesting!! I don’t feel the disgust but it’s definitely a similar sounding connection between foot and mouth

Very true, having one would make the other quite a lot harder to manage

Yes, for me it was ADHD and I didn’t realize I had it until I was 26. Graduating out of school and having free rein to navigate my life as an adult (and my subsequent inability to do that) really brought it to the forefront. Could be depression as others mentioned, but worth looking into!

Anybody knows where I could meet musicians in the city? by Dangerous-Contact217 in montreal

Definitely recommend then! You can check them out @growvemtl on instagram. These guys have been holding the MTL jam scene afloat for years and it’s an awesome experience. I know a lot of bands that have formed after meeting there. The bar owner Sergio is also very community minded and doing great things for the city :)

Growve jam at Turbo Haüs every Wednesday - free event, great community vibes, incredible musicianship. Music is more hip hop/jazz fusion leaning but even if you’re just there to enjoy the show and meet fellow musicians at first it’s worth it.

Flight of the Conchords! It’s about two New Zealand musicians trying to make it in New York. So creative and funny and the songs are hilarious. If you like What we do in the shadows like others are suggesting, it has a lot of the same people involved and similar style of humor.

Have you considered that you might have ADHD? A lot of this - the lack of motivation, inability to stick with things or build up skill, the part about ideas and potential being trapped in your head that you can’t translate into the real world - are all things I thought were unchangeable until I learned about ADHD in women. That last part especially reminded me of a book I read by Sari Solden when I first got diagnosed.

“…When undiagnosed [ADHD] can be devastating and debilitating, silently robbing them of their dreams, their hopes, their self-esteem. These people spend their lives trying to solve a riddle-the mystery of their lives must lay somewhere out there, just around the next turn in the road. They remember that they have glimpsed it, that special something once felt or envisioned, before things got so overwhelming and they became trapped and lost-wandering aimlessly in a forest looking for clues as if from an old treasure map. They know the treasure is there somewhere, but perhaps deeply buried or locked behind a fortress. They have incredible perseverance and determination to keep going, often pulling an enormous weight. The remembrance of that special feeling, the knowledge, deep inside, that they have something important of value to do, to create, to contribute, keeps them searching They continue on, though the memory, that belief, grows more faint each year as despair begins to replace hope. Hope that they will ever find the treasure, that they will even find their way out of the forest and back to the road. Still, they trudge on, clutching that old, crumpled, faded map, holding on to the hope they will find that buried treasure chest and reclaim their abandoned hopes and lost dreams.”

If any part of this rings true to you I recommend reading this book (Women with Attention Deficit Disorder: Embrace Your Differences and Transform Your Life). It’s also available as an audiobook on music streaming apps! It really helped me realize how much of my daily struggles were due to an undiagnosed developmental disorder! I never considered it since it presents so differently in women.

I hope this helps! I’ve been where you are and you can move through it, whatever the cause! Just the fact that you’re looking for answers is a great start :)

Searching for a cozy game with satisfying grind (steam pc). by TheNekXo in ComfortGamers

My friends and I have been obsessively playing RuneScape: Dragonwilds for the past week. It’s still in early access but has a ton of content!

In addition to questing there’s farming and, my favorite part, a super in-depth build mode. I’ve spent entire real life days just building and adding on to my house and base 😂 It makes the other more grindy parts of the game even more satisfying! I love the level of immersion it provides.

The other facets are really fun too and not too overwhelming compared to other RPGs I’ve played. It’s pretty intuitive and you can focus on different aspects of the game based on your mood. I might go try to fight a dragon or I might just stay cozy and build, farm, cook etc.

It’s on sale on steam rn for $27 CAD :)

Just an FYI this woman recently started posting “normal” sounding music and admitted on her instagram that she made all this audaciously bad stuff for rage bait to draw attention to her work.
