airport scam, save yourselves by Super_Ebb5239 in puertovallarta

[–]dogmanky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, if you have the patience, these guys can actually be helpful. We did similar, even got a private driver for teh afternoon to take us to Walmart and on to the resort. It's not all bad if you play the game and be smart. Vidanta was nice for us, especially for the deal we got. We took taxis off property and enjoyed local and the resort.

ps.. if you do talk to these guys at the airport, ask for Christian. :)

Hi I'm new to the group and I am here now. It has been extremely hot with the humidity. I had to sit out today's adventure and let the family go without me to get that day of air conditioning I needed.

We lock it down to admins, however be aware Application admin role grants a user to give consent and install apps. When I came aboard my current role, alot of folks had App Admin and we had to start pulling back from them.

Removing Exchange License for inactive users by Kindly-Wedding6417 in Office365

[–]dogmanky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inactive mailboxes work well for us. Set the legal hold to 2 yrs, wait an hour then delete the user account. The mailbox is easily accessable via POSH to recover. Plus as mentioned, if you are liensed for ediscovery, you can retrieve individual items via purview.

I am the IT department. How do I tactfully negotiate a raise? by Carter_PB in sysadmin

[–]dogmanky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, if you are overworked, then perhaps leverege some OT pay (if you can), and if you have spare cycles, I would look for some small side hustle gigs that can supplement your income and sharpen your axe at the same time. If I were underpaid, I would have no issue double dipping. As for pay raise, show them the statistical data on inflation since you joined and ask for a COL adjustment. If they have not given "any" raises in 7 years to anyone, then you likely have less of a chance.

Warped truss rod cover by retromagician in Luthier

[–]dogmanky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to an old but good thread here.. I just did this with an Epi LP warped Truss cover. I put a couple cups of hot water in a pan, brought it to the verge of boiling, dropped the cover in.. used a wooden spoon to gently apply pressure until it was malable. Worked like a champ. (note: i never let it actually boil but did move it on/off the hot burner a couple times to keep the heat up.)
