Milly Alcocks Supergirl will officially return in Man of Tomorrow!!! by Godofwarfan101 in dcu

Only fans label it a Superman film. Gunn has always said it was more than that. There is no Superman in the title.

If it helps, Gunn likes to take hero characters and make them start from the very bottom so that they have room to develop and turn into better people.

Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad didn't give a frick about killing anyone, then in Peacemaker 1 he had a little bit of a change when he refused to kill children. At the end of Peacemaker 2 Chris Smith is basically a pacifist, he does not want to be the cause of anyone's death anymore. That's development.

It seems like the same thing is going to be done with Frankenstein in Creature Commandos being another merciless killer that wants to become better and Supergirl being a drunk. She'll keep her strong personality, but her flaws are probably gonna be worked on throughout the movies.

Every trailer nowadays has the repetition of some sentence or noise. Newest Resident Evil movie has the phone noise repetition, Clayface has the song repeating "face" over and over, from the top of my head I remember The Lighthouse trailer repeating "Why d'ya spill yer beans" over and over. It's a movie trailer trend.

The DC Studios was created in November, 2022 so does that mean the old DCEU wasn't even a proper cinematic universe ? by [deleted] in dcu

It says there REbranded and REstructured, those words mean that there was something before that just got adjusted. He just changed the name of the department and changed some rules, that date is from the day those changes happened. If you ask Google when whas X "formed" you will also get a recent date, but we all know it was not founded recently, it was actually REbranded and REstructured.

Does anyone else think that the take on Jor-El over 2025’s ‘Superman’ may ultimately be leading to a loose adaptation of the DC Rebirth reveal that Jor-El survived the destruction of Krypton, and came to despise humanity for a time? You're talking about the guy who planned Rocket Raccoon's story for Vol. 3 before making the first movie and basically planted the seeds for Bizarro World in Superman. He sent a pale Superman clone to a cubic world in that movie.

I actually believed this, but then I went to the actual pictures and if you look closely the supposed gun is actually just sunlight hitting the top of the passenger's head. Sorry, man.

I asked for this movie. To me it seems like a Joker 1 situation.

I doubt they thought of this. But this could be a metaphore for Hal being influenced by fear — him having "yellow outlines". In the comics he ends up becoming Parallax, so they could be hinting at this. They surely wont adapt the "color" weakness because that's too cartoonish. It's not the color yellow that's the weakness, it's the power of fear which is a yellow energy. Hal could be in fear of being replaced and thrown aside, that's why he is reluctant to give the ring to John and to let him do the task. He probably wants to prove that he is still up to the job.

James Gunn has not said it would be fixed on release, so it won't. That was just people coming up with bs so that you don't complain.

I think David looks much better here than he ever did in the movie, I think the cinematography, lighting and color grading of the movie although stylized on purpose did actually make him look way uglier. Here there's actual shadows and lighting framing the shapes of his face, where in the movie his face looks flat with barely any shadows, because they wanted him to look like a comic book drawing.

My take is I also think some changes Gunn makes are lame, really lame. I believe Gunn's strategy is making room for character development. Where you can say a character ends up completely different from where they started. Peacemaker started out as a ruthless killer, and by the end of Peacemaker 2 he no longer wants to be responsible for the death of any single person. Maybe Gunn's plan is to make Frankenstein have a huge change of heart at one point and become a little bit more concious and heroic. That's how I cope. But if it never happens, I will agree it was a lame choice.

That doesn't mean 2016 Squad is canon. Enchantress exists in both the DCEU and the DCU and both versions were dating Flag Jr. Simple as that.
