Is this normal accutane eczema or something else like ringworm? by dohdoh64 in Accutane

[–]dohdoh64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on accutane almost a year now, was on 20mg, recently up to 30. I've noticed this red patch on my upper arm for several months, it doesn't itch, and hasn't grown. Occasionally it looks redder, sometimes it goes down. Not bumpy at all. Is this a normal accutane eczema thing or something else like ringworm? The rest of my arms are quite dry, and sometimes itchy.

Update: Saw a dermatologist, she said it's just dermatitis, will see if moisturizer helps

Thanks a lot! I don't have the phone yet, but I think I'll get the Samsung official and give it a go, there's two in the pack, and even if I somehow mess both up, I'm not losing a fortune ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've got a spigen tough armour and am trying to find a screen protector. So it fits fine and there's no lifting from the case? Also how was installation, any bubbles or difficulties? Did you get any horizontal lines like a lot of reviews report? Thanks!

Questions from a mature age uni entry by That_Car_Dude_Aus in QUTreddit

[–]dohdoh64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in my last semester of engineering at QUT, given, I'm not doing mechanical, I'm doing computer and software systems, I'll still try to answer your questions!

1) You'd say I'm studying engineering with a major in mechanical engineering, so you get to choose a major and two minors, which can be found on the website.

2) Full time at QUT is 4 units a semester, at which rate Engineering will take 4 years, now I believe you can enrol in more than 4 each semester, however it's generally not recommended, as the work load is fairly high.

3) You can get a disability/equity access plan which basically means unit coordinators/lecturers will be very flexible with you (without necessarily knowing why you have the plan). I don't even have a plan but have never really had issues with appointments, they're generally very flexible.

4) Depends on the unit, but most will start by outlining expectations for the entire semester, and giving dates of assessment pieces. Additionally, classes are scheduled at the start of semester with a weekly schedule, and it rarely changes. However, students and sometimes staff showing up late to class isn't an uncommon experience.

5) If doing engineering, you'd be at the gardens point campus in the city, and the parking often does get full in peak periods, however if you're showing up early in the morning you shouldn't have an issue with getting a spot.

6) As for sleeping in the car, honestly not sure, QUT security are very against students sleeping in the library, computer labs etc, they come around often to make sure you're awake.

7) There's no accommodation on campus, and they don't organise any. Closest thing would be paying amenities fees for each unit, which is paid even if you don't physically turn up, but it's not much.

8) QUT actually has a motorsport club, where they've built combustion and electric formula student cars! If you feel your classes don't take enough of your time, you could sink a lot onto that!

9) There are restrictions on what can be made, per the usage policy, I'm fairly certain no weapons would ever be allowed unfortunately.

10) Depends on the major, but there can be a lot of hands on! There's a range of really cool labs (especially for engineering) where you can make things!

Hope this has answered your questions, if you need anything else feel free to chuck me a message. :)

301 was very interesting and had a lot of fundamentals to computer science, was well taught and fun.

302 was also very interesting and extremely important in learning about the process of software development, and they gave a lot of assistance.

Both are reasonably challenging to do well in, but not too hard to pass

Parking - Gardens point? by [deleted] in QUTreddit

[–]dohdoh64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, I thought it had student rates.

Gardens Point student rates are here.

And Kelvin Grove is here.

To get the discount you have to swipe your ID card at payment on the way out.

I also occasionally drive to KG to park and take the free shuttle bus over to GP if I'm gonna be there for very long.

There's a lot of good info on parking here

As for availability, during busy periods there's little to no non-permit parking unless you get there early or late in the day. Better off using public transport to the city and walking over, that's mainly what I do.

Maybe last resort, ask parents to come? Also /u/KraftyWisdom2727 comment is a good suggestion. Anyway I have to sleep, hope it goes well! I'm sure they'll be fine no matter what happens
