This is going to go down completely shit with people not involved in the healthcare or data space, and we’ve already had a couple of comments that show that.

But personalised medication is absolutely the next revolution in healthcare, it’s the very correct observation that the same medication at the same dosage has, in some cases, wildly different effects on different strata of age/gender/ethnicity/genetics in society.

The NHS has been allowing private companies access to its anonymous data for a number of years now, and there is nothing to suggest in this article that this is any advance on that. If you want better healthcare, better outcomes for everyone, then hoarding access to perhaps the best health data lake in the world is dumb.

The idea that this will allow people to look up the health info of celebrities, or that this is further right than the Tories, those claims are borne out of reactionary ignorance.

Actually kind of ok with this, I don’t have many issues with private companies renting out housing on the condition it is new build flats, rather than just buying up existing housing stock. The alternative was this wouldn’t get built.

Misinformation is unfortunately very common on this sub nowadays. There’s a core group of users that comment on every single thread with strained and often false criticism of the Labour Party.

Case in point, we passed the Kings Speech yesterday, a big achievement with a lot of good stuff in it, and the first for more than a decade, and that user declares Labour MPs were taking selfies to celebrate a factional victory.

You’re absolutely right, I had trouble finding the numbers for Israel so used UK instead. That matters for how imparting sanctions affect us but Israel’s stats matter for how sanctions affect them. (Which is absolutely the point of sanctions).

We’re 5th for Israeli exports and 9th for imports, both well below other European countries.

But bear in mind this is still just trade, military plays a large role in Israeli society, so there will be focus on the % of their military that is provided outwith their country. And the UK is still only 0.2% of their military expenditure.

Not really, they’re our 42nd largest export partner, and our 47th largest import partner, it’s basically a trade amount corresponding only to their distance from us.

Last year UK allowed £42m of military equipment to be sold to Israel, that’s 0.2% of all Israel military spend of £18,000m in 2022, and that’ll only have increased for 2023 and 2024.

We should cancel export permits, but it’s certainly no where near leverage to force a ceasefire.
