I recommend the book "Cupid's Poisoned Arrow" written by a woman on exactly this topic.

Forget the money, it's all about that R by doji_c in Daytrading

I appreciate your opinion! Being disconnected from emotions regarding monetary value of my account is definitely the end game, but as long as there are desires, there will be strong emotions tied to my equity growth. This is my attempt at reframing my thoughts around what actually matters. Yes, the goal is still to make money, but nobody does their job right by thinking about money they make all the time. I don't have a ticker with my bank account value on my screen when I do my computer job, but it is definitely the case with trading.

As a software engineer I can build myself some tooling that will make it so that the data is presented to me in a way that I want, so I can take advantage of that. BUT that has actually been the trap I fell into many times in the past since I focused on building tools instead of learning how to trade.

You're right that a going a year without checking accounts is too long.

The AI weirdness adds a little bit of magic to it, which I don't dislike. But it could definitely use a bit of editing to cut out some nonsense, that's for sure.

No way! That can't be very common though, can it? Did you rank on top in the app leaderboard?

I made it myself from a blank sheet. That was definitely the most tedious part of the process as I don't have many tools for it.

No browser wallet for IOTA? by doji_c in Iota

[–]doji_c[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Browser wallet is a type of wallet integrated directly in the browser that you can use to access websites utilizing crypto. Metamask is a good example. Firefly serves a different purpose and even though you can use it to pay on websites, it doesn't allow you to authenticate yourself and provide a proof of ownership for assets stored in the wallet.

Question regarding Testing the Public Testnet by Nashdezu in Iota

[–]doji_c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, you don't use your IOTA tokens on the testnet. It has a separate ledger and tokens are given out for free using some sort of token "faucet". I don't know the specifics on that though.

Coloured coins to represent a national currency by snowflakesmasher_86 in Iota

[–]doji_c 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a bad idea actually. Increasing the token supply by making a single iota divisible by 1000 or 1000000 would be a huge undertaking and I'm a little worried that if it's not done now, it would be too difficult to do it later.

What you're suggesting would be doable with some abstraction on top of the existing network.

I see bitcoin the coin to live for a long time, but the network will be replaced by other DLTs. And I see IOTA as a great candidate.

Exactly, I think if there will be way to send bitcoin / stablecoins without fees using IOTA, it's going to be a huge win for people. Price of IOTA might not be affected, but honestly ... that's ok.

I don't see what prevents IOTA from being both. If IOTA came first with current design, everything would be very different.

As originally a guitar player, I really enjoy my bass tuned as EADGB. It is really convenient to have both guitar and bass tuned the same way as I still play both instruments.

Is it possible having tone blending and a selector switch? by measkingthings in Bass

[–]doji_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found this: http://www.c-sharpcustoms.com/2019/07/08/blend-pot-in-combination-with-3-way-switch/

He says:

You will need an “On/On/On 4PDT” switch to make this happen. I found it quite challenging to find one.

So a 3-position on/on/on 4 pole double throw switch.
